    “I wish you wouldn’t lie to me, Ash.”

                “Come on Ashley, let’s go inside,” Kim purred in my ear as she leaned over to lay a kiss on my cheek. I moved out of the way and stood up, making her growl playfully as if I were teasing her.

                “Kim, just because Spencer and I are fighting doesn’t mean that I’m going to fuck you.” I spat out, making her smirk as she sashayed toward me, effectively pinning me against the wall. “Kim, get off of me.” I snarled, when she put her arms on either side of my head.

                “I know that you want me. Don’t worry, Spencer never has to know.” I groaned and ducked under her arm, making her snarl in frustration.

                “Listen, I’m going to be gone for a little while. I want you gone by the time I get back, leave your key on the kitchen table.”

                “Oh come on Ash –“

                “No, just be gone.” I cut her off, pulling on a pair of flip flops before grabbing my car keys and heading towards the parking garage.

                A few minutes later I ended up at our spot on the beach. I wasn’t surprised to see her; I kind of knew that she was going to be here. She knew that I was there too but neither of us talked for a long time as we stared at the waves. Finally I sat down beside her and she looked over at me with eyes full of tears.

                “I think that maybe we moved too fast Spencer,” I said slowly, watching as some of the tears spilled over and made slow trails down her cheeks. “I love you, but I want you to be completely ready for me. Maybe we should just take some time and figure out where we’re going.”

                “Why do you always do this?” She finally asked, sounding so sad that it almost broke me. “Every time that it gets hard you run. You asked me why it took me so long but you seem to be forgetting that it’s you who broke up with me, you’re the one who broke my heart, twice and yet you think that I should forget all that and come running back into your arms well it’s not easy Ashley. I want to trust you so badly but sometimes it’s hard.” I felt shock run through me as Spencer said these things, tears still running softly down her face.
