    An Unexpected Love

Spencer and Ashley were sitting on Spencer’s porch swing holding hands. “If someone told me six months ago, that I would fall in love with such a beautiful and wonderful girl, I would have told them that they were crazy or I would ask if they were on meds,” Ashley began. Spencer chuckled.

“What would you tell the person now?” asked Spencer with curiosity.

“I would tell them that the person that he or she was a psychic and thank the person,” Ashley answered with a smile. Ashley leaned in to kiss Spencer passionately on her lips. Spencer smiled and returned the kiss with equal passion. Ashley intensified the kiss. Glen cleared his throat and Spencer stopped the kiss.

“Sorry to interrupt you, girls, but we have a problem, Spence,” began Glen with a sigh.

    “What’s up?” Spencer asked.

“You’re not going to like what I have to tell you,” sighed Glen.

    “Spill,” Spencer stated.

“I’ll leave you two to talk,” responded Ashley. I’ll call you later, alright? Ashley kissed Spencer sweetly on her lips. Spencer returned the kiss. Ashley stopped the kiss.

“No, it’s fine if you stay here, Ashley,” Glen said. He’s in LA, sis.

“How do you know he is?” asked Spencer with curiosity.

“I have my sources,” Glen answered simply. Spencer gave him an unconvinced look. I was listening in on one of Mom’s phone conversations.

“She’s going to take him back,” concluded Spencer with a sigh. You know that, right? She’s not as tough as she lets everyone believes she is. She always takes him back.

“You don’t know that,” Glen stated.

“I do,” responded Spencer. She always did no matter how badly he treated us and how much money he stole. He only came around when he needed money for booze, so why should that change now?

“We all changed when we moved to California for the better, maybe she can live without him now,” Glen pointed out. Maybe she doesn’t “need” him anymore.

“I highly doubt that,” sighed Spencer.

“Everything is going to be alright,” Glen stated reassuringly. I didn’t take martial arts classes for two years and now it’s the time to put the martial arts skills to the test. You’re my little sister and it’s my job to look out for you.
