You and Me – (Chapter: Fight the urge)
A powerful emotion swept through the shorter girl at the mention of the brunette’s name, pure and utter contempt and it showed through her eyes. It wasn’t just her and Dano’s falling out that made her so angry but the aftermath that followed. She regretted so much and was so pissed off at everything for doing what they did or didn’t do but she knew what happened with Dano was a mistake. It was really her sister’s fault and her former girlfriend wasn’t entirely to blame but those wounds cut so deep. It was impossible to ignore the pain she felt when she saw the former… the still current… love of her life.
“I know. I know but I was so fucking angry. Can you blame me?” her eyes pleaded for some understanding of where she was coming from in the situation.
“No I can’t and I don’t. I just want to start over. No expectations or anything. Just a clean state.” she explained as she extended her hand towards the girl.
Hazel eyes stared at the hand with apprehension. To start over, to just be friends and forget about everything that had happened between them. Was it possible? Fuck no it wasn’t possible but it was a start to at least getting to a point where they could be civil towards each other. She missed her so much. Not just her touch but her friendship as well. Dano was one of the few people who knew who she really was and accepted her fully. At this stage in her hectic teenage life, she could use a friend like that.
With an unnoticeable trembling hand, she grasped the taller girls and shook it lightly. This might be a do-over for the two girls but Madison was not ready, nor did she think she would ever be, to go back to the relationship they were once in and she wanted to make that perfectly clear. “I’m straight so don’t you dare try anything.”
Dano’s eyebrow shot up in an amused look and when the smaller girl tried to slip her hand away, she gripped it slightly tighter but gentle way and pulled her close. So close. They could feel the body heat radiating off of each other and drove their senses into a frenzy. It was electric and it made a flurry of butterflies flip-out in their chests.
Staring intently into those hazel eyes that she could fall into forever, the taller girl held the hand to her chest, right where her beating heart was. “You might be like this in front of your friends, but I know the real person inside of you,” she brought the back of Madison’s hand to her lips and kissed it softly only to bring it back down again, “and she’s beautiful.”
Releasing the girl from her grasp she turned around and walked away, leaving the Latina standing there with nothing but her own thoughts to keep her company.
What neither of them knew was that two pairs of eyes were watching them with great interest not far off. Both people heard nothing but they were able to come to their own conclusions from the body language.
For both people, it was too good to be true.
