Half an hour later and Ashley was laid on her back with Spencer gripping her hand tightly in excitement. “This is so cool ash; just think in a few minutes you will be able to see your baby”

Ashley smiled as she thought about it, she had come to terms that she was pregnant and she had done nothing but think about it and how it was going to affect her life but until she saw the tiny baby on the screen it hadn’t really hit her.

Ashley had blanked out and just stared at the screen in awe that was her baby.

“So is everything ok, I mean has it got 10 fingers, 10 toes, 1 head & 1 body?” Spencer asked trying to keep Ashley amused.

“All present and counted for, im just going to go and get your photos and video and fill out some paper work ill be with you in 5 minutes” The nurse smiled.

As she exited the room Spencer dragged her eyes from the screen to focus on Ashley’s face, noticing the wet runs leading from her eyes she asked

“Ash what’s wrong?”

“Nothing it’s just, I knew I was pregnant, I expected this but… when I was pregnant with Aid I hadn’t got this far, I never had this then it’s just so amazing I mean that little grey smudge is my baby”

Spencer laughed at Ashley’s analysis of her baby. “Well smudge is so lucky, she, or he! Is going to have the best mother in the world”

Ashley looked deep into Spencer’s eyes.

“Thank you for being here and sharing this with me” The words came straight from her heart.

“I wouldn’t have been anywhere else, than here with you right now” Spencer moved slowly towards Ashley feeling the need to kiss her.

When she saw the image on the screen everything seemed to fall into place, she couldn’t understand how she had so much trouble coming to terms with this; after all she would have two Ashley’s to love now.

With only millimetres between their lips the door opened and startled them both.

As the Porsche pulled up to the car park by the beach Ashley glanced as Spencer who had been staring intently at the photo of the baby since they left the hospital.

“Can I have one of these Ash? Please” Spencer begged.

“Yeah sure I have 2 more and the video” Ashley smiled happy that Spencer was being so cool with the situation.

Spencer tucked the photo in her purse and exited the car.

Two hours later and they were still laid on a huge blanket on the beach. They were close enough that they could feel each others body heat yet they weren’t touching.

They had spent the first five minutes looking at the photo again. The rest of the time had been spent talking about their situation. Spencer described the conversation between her parents the night before and Ashley laughed cynically at Paula showing support of her.

After Spencer had finished explaining a comfortable silence had fallen over them as they looked out to sea watching the wave’s crash softly on the golden sand.

“Spence?” Ashley asked sweetly.

“Yeah Ash?”

“I was wondering, what made you tell your rents?” Ashley asked a little confused as to why Spencer had volunteered the information to them.

“Well it’s a number of factors really one because they would only find out anyway and id rather they heard the full story from me than some rumour from someone else and secondly because I wanted to start our relationship again on better terms than last time, no secrets, no hiding just plain, simple and drama free”

When Spencer looked up to Ashley she was met with a huge smile “you mean your giving me a second chance?”

“Well officially its like the fifth or sixth chance but iv come to the conclusion that when it comes to you, you can never run out of chances, I love you ash and I know we are still young and have our lives to lead but I cant imagine being old with anyone but you.” Spencer spoke with conviction and finished her speech by softly kissing Ashley.
