“Call her.” 

“No.” 

“Call her.” 

“No, shut up.” 

“Call her!”

“No!”

“CALL HER!”

“Dude, can it!”  Kasey flung a pillow from the couch at her cousin.  He caught it and launched it back knocking her over.

“Oh for Christ sakes swallow your pride and call K.  Man up and tell her you love her already, geez.”  Kasey pondered his words carefully.

“We all make mistakes right.  So what if she slept with the g-“

“Wait, she slept with the fucking guy!?  Aiden what the hell are you talking about?!  She just kissed him!”  Kasey frowned, her eyes narrowed as her body froze.

“Shit.”  He muttered under his breath.  ‘Of all the times to have word vomit why did I have to have it now?’  He wanted nothing more than to walk out the door and pretend he had never said that.

“Sh…she slept with him?”  Kasey’s shoulders slumped forward when she realized her cousin had inadvertently spilled what had been plaguing Kyla.  Aiden nodded solemnly.

“I’m sorry Kase, I thought maybe she had talked to you about it.  It…it just came out.”  He tried to apologize.  Aiden didn’t want to meddle in their affairs but he wanted to see his cousin pull out of the sullen mood she had been in lately.

“Shit…I can’t believe she…I mean…he must have stayed the night after-“ Aiden cut in.  “After you left, she said she didn’t remember anything except that the next morning she woke up with him.  Then she booted him out and well we showed up.”

Kasey sighed unsure of what to do with this information.  On one hand Kyla was beyond drunk that night, the girl had a difficult time forming a simple coherent sentence.  On the other hand Kyla slept with the guy, period.  That alone was enough make her blood boil.

“Look I know you’re angry but if it helps, Kyla’s broken Kasey.  She’s nothing but a slug around her place, she realizes that she made a mistake.”  Kasey waved off the comment.  “No Aid, it doesn’t help.”

The boy arched his eye brow in confusion.  He thought that she would have been mad, flipping off the walls or even smashing something to bits to relieve the anger.  Instead she sat there, her eyes downcast and seemingly in deep thought.  This meant that there was indeed a glimmer of hope for forgiveness.
