“The Karate Kid?”  Ashley chuckled and shook her head.  “Could you be any more of a nerd Kase?”

“Hey I resent that!”  Kasey pouted for a moment only to burst out laughing.  “I guess I am.”

“Yea you are…You’re lucky you’re adorable though.”  Kasey smiled shyly at Ashley’s words.  She was never good at taking compliments.

“Oh girls you’re doing an amazing job!”  Blanche’s rosy red cheeks were pushed up slightly making room for her large smile.  “But it’s awful warm out, why don’t we take a break?”

Everyone agreed that a short rest was indeed needed.  Both Ashley and Kasey were drenched in sweat and sore from their day’s work.  They followed Chuck’s wife to their home.

Sitting on Blanche’s porch the duo patiently awaited their iced tea.  Kasey’s face was red and moist; Ashley’s brown curls were now damp and sticking to her face.  “Thanks for helping me out with this.”  Ashley smiled.

Kasey leaned back into her wicker chair and grinned crookedly.  “S’all good.  I like getting dirty.”  She wiped off the wood dust that had collected on her arms.

Blanche quickly returned with a tray of glasses and a tall pitcher of iced tea.  “Here you are girls.”  She smiled taking a seat across from them on a small porch swing.  The girls thanked her and reached for a glass.

“Well if it isn’t Chuckles.”  Kasey sat up straight.

Chuck was a very charming man who like his wife enjoyed life to its fullest.  The short haired brunette had only met the man a few days ago but the nickname fit perfectly.  Chuck chuckled nearly every time they saw him and his laugh was definitely contagious.

He rounded the corner and chuckled, taking a seat next to his wife on the small swing.  “How does the wagon look?  She’s almost ready?”  He asked.  Blanche took a sip from her glass and quietly rested her free hand on his thigh.

“We’re almost there Chuck.  Another hour or so and we’ll be done.”  Ashley scuffed the deck with her boot.  “I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciate you letting me use it.  This is going to be great; I can’t wait to see her face.”  The brunette seemed a little lost in her own world, probably fantasizing about what Spencer’s reaction would be.
