He starts the drive. 30 minutes later they arrived. He helps then again with their luggage. Bette takes Tina’s hand in hers and the walk inside. They walk up to the check in line.
“Did you bring your camera?” Bette asks.
“Off course I did. I never go anywhere without it.” Tina replies.
A young girl comes up to Bette.
“Hi, could I get your autograph?” She asks Bette.
Bette smiles and looks at Tina.
“Yes, sure.” Bette replies.
The girl gives Bette a piece of paper and a pen.
What’s your name?” Bette asks.
“It’s Katie.” The girl replies.
“Oh, that’s a pretty name. I have a sister named Katie.” Bette says and writes her autograph on the little piece of paper. “Here you go.” Bette says and gives her the paper back.
“Thank you Ms. Porter.” The girl says.
“You can call me Bette. Have a happy new year.” Bette says and smiles.
“Thank you, and you too.” The girl says and runs back to her family.
“She was sweet.” Bette says and smiles at Tina.
“Yes, she was.” Tina replies.
It’s their turn at the check in. Bette gives the lady their flight information and reference number.
“Here you go.” Bette says.
“Thank you.” The lady says and smiles. She starts punching on her computer. A minute later she was finished.
“Here you go. Your tickets. How many bags do you have?” She asks.
“We have one suitcase each.” Bette replies.
“Okay, you can just put them up here.” The lady says. She put on the flight information on them and sends them away.
“You are gate 45. Have a nice flight and have a happy new year.” She says.
“Thank you, same to you.” Bette replies.
Bette takes Tina’s hand again and they walk over to the security check. They pass without any problems.
It’s one hour to they are scheduled to board the plane, so they find a caf and buys coffee and takes a seat.
“So, you’re excited?” Bette asks.
“Yes, I am. I can’t wait to see the Eiffel tower. I’m going all the way to the top.” Tina says.
“Oh, you are?” Bette asks.
“Yes, aren’t you?” Tina asks.
“I’m afraid of heights.” Bette replies.
“Oh, I didn’t know that.” Tina says.
“But, I’ll try, but you have to hold my hand all the time.” Bette says.
“Off course.” Tina replies and smiles.
