    More talk, surprise visitors at the door… Who could it be?

    “Tina, she has pissed me off for the last time.” Bette replies.

    “I know babe, but please not today. Please let today be about us. I know you, you will be in a bad mood for the rest of the day.” Tina says and looks into Bette’s eyes.

    Bette looks down for a moment. “Please babe, I know you are angry with her, I am too, but please let it be, just for today.” Tina pleads again.

    Bette takes Tina’s hand.

    “Sure. I’ll let it be for today.” Bette replies and give her a smile.

    They finish lunch.

    “Do you think you can keep an eye on the boys for a few hours?” Tina asks. “I think I’m gonna go work in the garden a few hours. Haven’t done that in a while.” She adds.

    “Sure.” Bette says and smiles.

    While Tina works out in the garden, Bette is laying on the couch reading a book, with the baby monitor next to her on the table.

    Suddenly there’s a knock on the door. She gets up and walks over and opens it. She’s surprised to see William and Matthew there holding hands.

    “Will, Matt, what are you doing here? Where’s Stephanie?” Bette asks.

    “Mom’s home.” William replies.

    “Does she know you’re here?” Bette asks as she takes them inside. She’s about to close the door.

    “Aunt Bette, you have to pay the cab man.” William says and looks up at her.

    “The cab man? You took a cab over here?” Bette asks now even more surprised. She looks outside and sees the cab standing outside.

    “Okay, stay here.” Bette says and walks outside to the cab.

    “Hey, mam. It’s 15 dollars.” The cab driver says.

    “Sure. How did they get here? I mean how did they get hold of you?” Bette asks.

    “A woman called the central and asked for a cab. She brought the boys out to the cab and she gave me this address. So here I am.” He says.

    “How did she seem? Calm or scared?” Bette asks.

    “Well, if I have to choose, I have to say scared.” He replies.

    “Okay, thanks for bringing them here. Here you go.” Bette say and gives him a 20.

    “Thank you man, have a good day.” He says and drives off.

    9. Bette should have called the police when she talked to the cab driver, then they would have been there by the time she got there. Tina should have called them the minute Bette walked out the door. Domestic violence is just that, violent, and no one is safe from it. Hope you let Bette and Stephanie be alright.
