Chapter 171

“Hey, how is she?” Julia asks.

“She’ll be okay.” Tina says and takes a seat at the kitchen table.

“Are you hungry?” Jessie asks.

“A little.” Tina replies. She sighs and runs her fingers through her hair.

“Are you okay?” Jessie asks, taking a seat next to Tina at the table.

“YeahI can’t believe something happened again. We can’t seem to have any peace at all. It’s frustrating. Just when we get through something, then something else is thrown into our lap. How much more can we take?” Tina says as she wipes away a tear.

“You’ll get through this too. And I’m sure Dana will be okay.” Jessie says.

“I’m not so sure about that. She’s not good. Still in a coma. Not able to breathe herself. And paralyzed from the neck down. What kind of life will she have, if she wakes up?” Tina asks.

“I don’t know. But I know that she’ll be surrounded by friends and family. We’ll make the best out of it.” Jessie says.

“Yeah. I can’t imagine what Bette will do, if Dana dies.” Tina says.

They sit in silence a few minutes. One of the boys starts to cry.

“You go and feed them. And I’ll fix you something to eat.” Jessie says.

“Thanks.” Tina say and smiles, she walks into the living room and lifts up Daniel, who’s starting to get hungry. She starts to feed him. After about 10 minutes, he’s finished, and Julia comes in.

“Hey, can I help you with anything?” Julia asks.

“Maybe you can burp him?” Tina says.

“Sure.” Julia says. Tina hand him over and Julia places him up towards her shoulder.

Tina then lifts up Noah and starts to feed him.

Julia takes a seat on the chair opposite Tina.

She softly rubs his back. Tina smiles at him.

“You’re good with kids.” Tina says.

“Thanks. I used to work in a kindergarten after school. When I was in high school. I like kids.” Julia says.

“It shows.” Tina says and smiles.

“So, how long has Bette known Dana?” Julia asks.

“About 10 years. It was through Dana I met Bette. I was doing a photo-shoot with Dana, at  Bette’s club.” Tina says and smiles as she remembers the beginning.
