    B&T CHapter 23

    Chapter 23

     

     

     

    Tina was frantic she was upset, she had just been informed that the workshop for her new internship was going to take place the weekend of  Bette’s birthday, there was absolutely no way out of it.

     

     

    Tina had to call Bette and give her the bad news, she willed herself not to cry. It had been so long since they had seen each other Tina had been looking forward to this trip.

     

    She dialed Bette’s number hoping Bette wasn’t too busy to answer her phone.

     

     

    Bette’s cell phone rang she picked it up and looked at the caller I.D and smiled.

     

     

    “Hi beautiful,” Bette answered

     

     

    “Hi, babe” Tina had tears running down her face.

     

     

    “I wasn’t expecting your call so early why aren’t you at school?”

     

     

    “I only have a couple of classes left until the semester is over so my afternoons are pretty much free, I’m thinking of spending time with Kit and the kids today”

     

     

    “You’re so amazing T”

     

     

    Bette heard Tina whimper.

     

     

    “T? What’s wrong?” Bette asked

     

     

    Tina did not reply.

     

     

     

    “Tina, are you still there?”

     

     

    “Yeah”

     

     

    “Tina, I’m starting to worry what’s going on?’

     

     

     

    “Bette, I  got an e-mail today from the director of the internship program for ‘Focus Features’ There is a mandatory 2 day Workshop for the interns that’s going to take place on Friday and Saturday”

     

    Bette got up and started to pace her office.

     

     

     

    “Don’t tell me it’s this Friday and Saturday?”

     

     

     

    “yes”

     

     

    “Fuck” was all Bette said.

     

     

     

    “I know babe I feel so bad, but if I don’t go I forfeit my slot and I’m going to have to wait for next year to apply again, ,and I might not get in next year, I don’t know what to do Bette”

     

    “Don’t be silly you’re going to go and attend the workshop that’s what you’re going to do”

     

     

    “But Bette we had plans, it’s your birthday”

     

     

    “Tina, unfortunately I’m going to have more birthdays” Bette chuckled trying to make Tina feel better.

    6. For all Bettes smarts sometimes she doesn’t think off the tip end of her nose. All she’s gotta do is go to LA herself and they can still have their weekend and celebrate her birthday, besides all the rest of the family is out there and it would be a real celebration.     9. Bette’s gonna f*** things up! Once again she’s putting her goals ahead of how she feels about Tina and not truly thinking about the fact that Tina would truly give up everything to be with her. Think Bette!!! PPVS

    10. Hey Iluvmuzic, This was another interesting chapter. What a shame that Bette and Tina couldn’t be together.They know what a big part of one another their careers are. Giving up this passion would ultimately affect their relationship as resentment can build up and destroy the love they share. Both Bette and Tina are independent and successful women. They need the daily challenge of their employment to give them purpose and opportunities to follow their dreams.Yes, Tina knows this weekend is an important celebration for Bette and she wants to be there. This is where real life takes control then chews you up and spits you out.Bette does understand why Tee can’t be there and most importantly wants Tina to do well at her course.These are bumps on the road which Bette and Tina can tranverse by keeping talking and getting together when mutually best.I do hope that Bette dicusses I get the feeling there will be more to this twist real soon.More please and many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
