After the Mirror Shatters Ch.5: It’s About Fucking Time

Shane sighed and looked at the strawberry blonde. “I think that I’m going to regret this but go ahead.”

“Ok..as you friend, I’m very worried about you.” Alice started and tried to ignore the annoyed glare from Shane. “You aren’t even blinking when there are women falling all over you. You barely even notice them actually. You’ve been isolating and drinking crazily for months. Has your sexual self just like croaked or what?”

The other ladies looked anywhere, but at the table. Shane’s fork made a loud clinking noise when it hit her plate. “Alice, have you ever thought that maybe..just maybe I’m growing the fuck up? As for the three months of isolating and drinking..I lost the woman who almost seemed to be made for me and it was my fault. Do you even get that?” Shane’s voice got a little bit louder. Jenny put down her drink to place a hand on the brunette’s shoulder. Shane instantly shrugged her hand away. “No! Fuck you Alice.”

Shane stood up and grabbed her jacket. Alice looked up at Shane, her eyes widening. Dana slumped back into her seat and covered her eyes.

    “Shane.” Carmen said softly.

“That came out all wrong, I’m so sorry.” Alice stood up.

“Like that’s something new. You need to stop and really think before you speak. Thanks for helping me out with the cleaning of my place Carmen I owe you. ” Shane threw down some money, just as the Mariachi band moved to their table. Shane swirled around and ran right into one of the guitar players, knocking his sombrero off. She stepped back around the band and walked quickly towards the door.

“Shit.” Alice murmured and then put on a fake smile when the three men started playing. Zo watched Shane and looked at Carmen, who nodded to her. Zo stood up and followed Shane out of the restaurant with the women staring after them.

Billie sighed and started to eat again. “Well, that was fun.”

All of the women turned and looked at Billie as she stuffed her face.

“Carmen? Do you ever worry about Zo being so close to Shane?” Alice asked, as soon as she said it she wished she hadn’t, she knew the margaritas were getting to her.
