“No, Tina you couldn’t be there for me because I wouldn’t let you. I know you guys don’t care for Clea and I didn’t want to feel like I had to choose between you guys and her.”

“Al we didn’t want to put you in a position to choose, ”Kit says.

“Al, has Tasha contacted you yet,”Shane asked.

“No, and I don’t think she will.”

“You’re engaged to Clea I mean where does this leave you and Tasha,”Helena asked.

“I don’t know.”

Alice fills them all in about her visit from Mrs. Williams. She doesn’t mention the physical abuse but mentions enough to give her friends close insight to what she has been through. At that moment Alice was grateful that her and her friends were talking. She wanted things to go back to how they used to be and she hoped they wanted the same in return.

Wanting to work on re-establishing their friendship Alice gets up, gets dress, and drives to Bette and Tinas. Clea was way on another business trip so with her away Alice wanted to spend as much time with her friends as she possible could. When she arrived at Bette and Tinas they were both surprised to see Alice. Alice apologized for popping up unannounced and Bette and Tina of course forgive her and let her in the house. Alice had been at Bette and Tinas for three hours. When she arrived she noticed that Bette and Tina was in the process of getting their shed remodeled. All three women shared great conversation over drinks. When Bette and Tina excused themselves to attend a phone conference with one of the movie producers Tina was working with Alice noticed the fresh cold pitcher of sweet tea sitting on the table. Since she had been at Bette and Tinas neither woman offered the person working so diligently in their shed something to drink. That was odd to Alice especially since both Bette and Tina were very hospitable people.

“Maybe they forgot to offer I mean we have been running our mouths for the past few hours,” she thought.

Grabbing the pitcher of tea and a glass Alice proceeds to the shed. It was extremely hot outside for the past week they had been experiencing a record breaking heat wave. Alice had been outside for a few seconds and immediately she began to feel the sweat beads form on her forehead and nose.
