“It’s good we just completed a major upgrade to the site a few months ago.”

“Yeah, I know I love the new layout.”

Max smiles at Shane.

“What’s that smile for?”

“Nothing it’s just that you’re very popular on the website.”

“You know the ladies love me.”

“Yes they do.”

“Hey is Al in?”

“No she’s not coming in today she’s moving.”

“Moving—moving where?”

“Uhmmmm, in with Clea didn’t she tell you?”

“No.”

“Oh yeah well if you ask me I think it was kind of a last minute decision.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Well I mean because she didn’t have any plans to get rid of her condo until after that fiasco happened with Angelica.”

“Sounds like that maybe the reasoning behind her wanting to move in with her.”

Getting up from his desk Max closes his office door and then sits back down.

“Look there’s something that’s been on my chest for a while and I need to tell someone before I fucking explode.”

“I’m listening.”

“What I’m about to say stays between us okay?”

“Yeah okay what’s going on?”

“Two weeks ago I was on the first floor in the storage looking for computer parts when I accidently overheard a conversation Alice was having with Clea. I wasn’t trying to listen on purpose you know.”

“Yeah I know Max.”

“Well anyway I heard Alice talking about the wedding and from what I got from the conversation she wanted to get married sometime next year but Clea was steadily insisting that they get married in the next three months or so.”

“In the next three months are you fucking kidding me, “Shane says shocked by the news she was hearing.

“Yeah but the strange thing is Alice was trying to convince Clea to have it next year and then she would say of course I love you. I guess Clea on the other end of the phone asked her to prove it because she said how can I prove it to you? That’s when she eventually caved in and agreed to getting married in the next three months.”

“Shit Max!”

“Look in the beginning I couldn’t have been more happy to hear about Alice engagement but since over hearing that phone conversation it just came across that Clea was pushing Alice to get married earlier. Since then I just have really had this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.”
