    chapter 7

    Angel and Stacy – Poolside

    “So we all pretended that I hadn’t been home earlier and hadn’t seen them.”

    “You’re sure they knew?” Stacy asked.

    “Mom, Tina, had that horrified look she was trying to hide. She talked incessantly, the way she does sometimes when she’s rattled.”

    “And your other mom?”

    “She had this kind of smirky, annoyed look she gets when she knows something, but isn’t going to admit it. But she wants you to know that she knows, and she knows you know she knows, but she isn’t going to say anything and you’d better not either because we’re all going to pretend.”

    “I don’t know if I understand what you just said.”

    “Well,” grinned Angie, “you had to grow up with it.”

    “Have your parents said anything yet?” Stacy asked hopefully, changing the subject. “You know, about helping us.”

    “Tina wrote something about sex and we’re supposed to read and ask questions if we have any.”

    “Is it helpful?”

    “It’s not bad.”

    In fact Angelica had asked Tina about “entering” her girlfriend, but it was not something she was yet ready to discuss with Stacy.

    “I mean, how exactly do I do this?”

    Tina was temporarily without an idea of how to present this information. Then she looked at Angelica, took her hand and stroked one finger.

    “This is what you do.” And Angelica understood it instantly.

    “If she needs more, ask her to tell you,” Tina brought two fingers together.

    “Mom,” Angie asked shyly. “Should I touch her with my mouth?”

    “Maybe you should ask her first. She’s probably going to be ok with it, but she might not be ready the first time.”

    Angelica thought about this conversation with Tina as she held Stacy. And she thought about the fact that she couldn’t as yet share this with Stacy. So many of Angelica’s conversations recently had been difficult. It had been true with Stacy and with her moms. And it all hadn’t been about sex.

    In fact, she had needed for some time to tell Bette about her decision not to pursue painting. She had told Tina some weeks ago, but had been putting off telling her other mom. This was not going to be easy.

    2. Poor Bette took the “no painting classes” thing pretty well, all things considered. It had to hurt. And the teens seem to be equal parts horny and nervous. That’s got to hurt, too.

    6. This is such a cute, funny and yet at the same time a heart warming story of a close family and extended family. Bette and Tina still share that one of a kind love. Hopefully Angelica will get that same chance. Got to love Shane and all her wisdom. Funny comment about sleeping without the PJ’s. Post soon, please.

    7. Great chapter and just love how Shane interacts with the kids. Poor Tina, I would have had a stroke to have to answer a question like that, and never would have thought of what she did to answer her daughter. Glad that everyone is basically happy and in love and the family having such loving moments.

    14. pancha, I am a fan, I am, but this story just kind of creeps me..I just don’t think it’s appropriate for a parent to be instructing her child on sexual technique. It also seems that if Angel and Stacy are uncomfortable talking about sex with each other, they aren’t ready to have it.They are young, it’s ok if they take their time!!!

    15. This is just too cute. Tina and Bette are doing there best under the circumstances. Its hard watching them grow up. You’d have thought Bette would have explained things, but Tina has always been the more rational one, and able to approach things from a different angle. Then theirs always Aunty Shane. Great story, and I can’t wait for more. I know eventually you’ll get to they’re first time, and it will be as caring and as sweet as it should be.

    18. Now Tina sounds like my mom.. But I don’t know why she doesn’t want Angel to grow up, but I know that my mom thinks the more I grow up the older she becomes.. :P This story is refreshing.. Thank you.

    19. If I was alone right now I’d crack up laughing at the sleeping without pajamas thing. Apparently Angie still doesn’t realize how tuned into things Shane is or she wouldn’t have been shocked that Shane knew about her and Stacy’s relationship. Glad you enjoyed your R&R. =)
