Alex: AND the second part is that UCLA called. Coach Simins talked to me. She wants me on the squad, IF I stick with the Wildcats and keep a game average of 20 points, assists and Baskets combined.

Carmen’s eyes lit up.

Carmen: A Scholarship? At UCLA?

Shane: Wait wait wait, hold up. What about Duke, and Michigan State? What about Harvard, and Tennessee? Why are you going to school in the backyard, when you’re dreams were there? And why are you moving down the street? Look, Alex, honey I love you and I love that you’re staying close to home, but why are you here, when your dreams are out there?

Alex looked away for a second.

Alex: Well, mom, those aren’t my dreams anymore. My dreams are here, at home, with my wife.

Alice busted out: Oh my God, you suck at this! Hey guys, we’re having a baby! I’m pregnant! See Lex, not that hard!

Carmen turned to mush, so did Tina and they both awed and hugged Alice. Shane smield wide and turned to her daughter.

Shane: You’re giving up your dreams for the simple life?

Alex: No mom, I’m giving up an old way of life, because I have a new one, a family.

Shane: I think you couldn’t possibly get wiser, or more mature, then you go and prove me wrong. I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud!

Alex smiled.

Alex: I love you mom.

Shane pulled her into a tight hug.

Shane: I love you too kid, but I’m WAY too young to be a grandmother.

Alex laughed. Bette walked up to her.

Bette: Congratulations!

Nate stood up and threw his arms in the air.

Nate: YAY!

Everyone laughed, then Shane picked up her son and gave him a hug.

Carmen: Enough excitement lets eat!

And everyone did eat, heartily and happily.

AN: Alright, it’s been a LONG time since I updated but with exams and baseball playoffs it’s been nuts. The writer’s block didn’t help either. Erm, this is NOT where it ENDS!
