Astral Romance // Tibette Goes Moulin Rouge – Ch 4

    ~Previously~

Two clowns carry Tina on their shoulders towards the table where Bette is sitting.

“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend…” Tina arrives in front of Bette as she sings the last notes of the song. Bette looks up at her, dumbstruck.

“I believe you were expecting me?” Tina asks with a smile.

    +++++++

    “Yes… yes,” Bette stammers.

The blonde turns to the crowd and says loud and clear: “I’m afraid it’s lady’s choice tonight.” The bohemians clap Bette on the back as Tina works the crowd. The men are all shouting: “Tina! Tina! Tina! Tina!”

Bette can’t keep her eyes off of the blonde beauty in front of her. Her eyes follow the lines of her curves and she looks at her beautiful face. She can’t believe her luck.

As Bette is still mesmerized by this truly sparkling diamond, Alice talks to Tina.

“I see you’ve already met my English friend,” the one blonde says to the other.

“I’ll take care of it, Alice.” She turns to Bette, who is still staring. “Let’s dance.” She pulls Bette onto the crowded dance floor.

“Hit her with your most modern poetry!” Alice shouts her advice to Bette. Tina starts dancing, but Bette just gapes, overwhelmed, until two rakes push her towards Tina.

Feel the beat of the rhythm of the night,
    Dance until the morning light
Forget about the worries on your mind,
You can leave them all behind

The bohemians can’t believe their luck.

    “That went well,” said Shane.

    “Incredible,” Veronica agrees.

Carmen is amazed as well. “She has a gift with the women.”

“I told you, she’s a genius,” Alice beamed proudly.

Tina and Bette dance, Bette somewhat hesitantingly at first, unsure of some of the more risqué moves, but then she gets into it.

Joyce Wischnia watches from the back, unable to see Bette’s face.

“That Duchess certainly can dance!” she says, astounded.

In the meanwhile, Tina and Bette are also having a conversation.

“So wonderful of you to take an interest in our little show,” Tina says, looking very happy.

“It sounds very exciting,” Bette replies. “I’d be delighted to be involved.”
