Astral Romance // Tibette Goes Moulin Rouge – Ch 4
Bette turns and walks towards the front of the elephant. Tina gets up and follows her.
Sat on the roof and I kicked off the moss,
Well some of these verses, well, they, they got me quite cross.
But the sun’s been kind while I wrote this song
Bette turns to face Tina and they slowly walk towards each other as she sings to her.
It’s for people like you that keep it turned on.
So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do,
You see I’ve forgotten if they’re green or if they’re blue
Bette takes Tina’s hands as she smiles at her somewhat uncertainly.
Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean,
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen.
Bette spins Tina around and holds her hands as they look at a beam of starlight shooting through the night sky.
And you can tell everybody that this is your song.
Bette’s mind is taking her on the beam of starlight. As silver rain falls, she opens an umbrella and they step up onto the roof of a building.
It may be quite simple, but now that it’s done. . .
Taking the umbrella, Tina dances across the sky and leaps up onto the Eiffel Tower, tossing the umbrella to one side. She and Tina dance towards each other, meeting in the middle of the sky.
I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind,
That I put down in words,
How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world
Bette picks Tina up and spins her around in her arms.

“Looks like she got the job!” Alice yells excitedly, clapping her hands.

As Bette spins Tina round, dissolve back to them in the elephant. Bette dips Tina, and she looks up at her as the song ends.
“Oh, I can’t believe it. I’m in love. I’m in love with a young, handsome, talented Duchess,” Tina sighs.
“Duchess?” Bette asks, confused.
“Not that the title’s important, of course.”
“I’m not a Duchess,” Bette says, astounded.
Not paying attention, Tina leans in to kiss Bette.
“I’m a writer,” Bette says.
Realising, Tina pulls back. “A writer?”
“Yes, a writer.”
Tina steps away from Bette.
“No!” Alice is hanging upside down in front of the window, watching them.
“Alice?” Bette and Tina simultaneously ask.
“Oh no,” Tina said, “you’re not another one of Alice’s oh-so-talented, charmingly bohemian, tragically impoverished protégés?”
“You might say that, yes.”
“Oh no! I’m going to kill her! I’m going to kill her!”
“I think there might be a small hitch,” Alice says to the bohemians.
Bette is confused.
“Alice told me…”
But Tina crosses the room to the door. Bette follows.
“What about the Duchess?” Tina asks. She opens the door, to find Wischnia and the real Duchess on the other side.
“My dear Duchess…” Wischnia is saying.
Tina quickly shuts the door, and turns to Bette.
“The Duchess!” she says, her eyes wide in shock.

This is so funny and so clever. I have never seen the movie. Is it anything like this story?
