    Becoming Dana Fairbanks Chapter 10

All Dana could do was shake her head. How could I have missed it? He is gayer than me.

The athlete turned to Alice to see how she was fairing and noticed that the blonde had her arms crossed over her chest in an attempt to guard against the chilly night air. Dana immediately shrugged out of her jacket and slipped it over the other girl’s shoulders.

“Can’t have my number one cheerleader freezing to death,” she said with a huge grin by way of explanation when Alice sent her a questioning look.

Alice simply snuggled in to the coat and said, “damn straight,” causing Dana to chuckle.

Upon reaching the car, they found a confused Harrison search his pockets for the keys. Once Dana reassured him that she had them, they loaded up into the car with Harrison giving Alice shotgun.

By the time Dana had started back towards campus, Harrison was fast asleep- leaving Dana and Alice in a companionable silence.

Alice simply looked out the window playing with the cuffs of Dana’s coat, trying to process why she felt the need to slam back three shots in rapid succession while watching Dana talk with her would be redhead suitor.

Dana, for her part, was comparing Alice and Lara. While Lara was beautiful, Alice took her breath away every time she saw her. But Lara had expressed not only an interest in her but a willingness to put up with her being in the closet, something she was sure not many people would do. It was surely something she would never ask Alice to odo

When ever she daydreamed about her blonde friend, it was always them out in about not knowing who saw them together. That’s what she wanted with Alice… but it was something she couldn’t give her.  Alice deserved more than closets.

Again, Lara said she wanted her anyway. She was attracted to the chef, but…

Her train of thought ended as she pulled up in front of Alice’s dorm.

“You okay getting to your room, or do you want me to help you,” Dana asked.

Alice just waved her off, “I’ll be fine.” Leaning over she gave the brunette a quick kiss on the cheek and bid her a good night saying they should grab lunch together.

Dana put her hand on her cheek were the blonde’s lips had just been. “Yeah, lunch,” she whispered.

Shaking her head, Dana put the car into drive and went to park it closer to her and Harrison’s dorm.

Jamie will know what to do, Dana thought and as soon as Harrison was safely in his room, the brunette called her friend in hopes of getting some good advice.

    1. Yey, PARTEI!!! Man, Alice should have had a flirting partner at the party. So Dana can know that she wants Alice not REDHEAD…. :P I guess that’s too generic though. lol I’m glad Jamie is gonna appear again. Gah, she’s such a good friend. But I’m wondering… when Shane, Tina, and Bette were introduced? I guess Alice connected them to Dana? :) Heee… I’m excited. PPS

    2. Ok lets hope Dana chooses Alice for sake of my sanity. PLEASE. Jamie is like Yoda from another town..and she seems to keep Dana in check. I agree with pandakse,Did alice do the chart thing and connect everyone together or did they just meet? Idk. But yet again another great post, Thank you

    3. Another great update! Sweaty!Dana is a good thing. You write the Danish friendship conversations really well. “Not the damn puppy dog eyes” — Hee! Too funny that Dana didn’t realize Harrison was gay. I love how you wrote them coming out to each other while also saying they were both in the closet. Well done. I don’t think Harrison will be happy about that 6 AM run. “Herding cats”, indeed. Been there, done that. I don’t know if Harrison is gayer than Dana, but, it is a close call. So cute that Dana gave Al her jacket. I can’t wait to see how things fall out with Lara. Maybe it’s better to get her out of the way now so we can get on with the Danish? ‘Cause it is all about the Danish… Thanks so much for the great chapter, anionayo!!

    4. It is always easier to comment after MaGoose. Pretty much what I would say. Look, as hard as it was to choose between A & L, it was only fair to D that she got to know each of them in depth. Without tasting the sourness, one will not appreciate the sweetness as much. They were all young and would have ample time to figure out what they wanted and needed. I totally trust that you will bring us happy danish ultimately. In the mean time, please feel free to let D live her life to the fullest. btw, love Harrison and Jamie. Thank you anionayo.

    5. Amazing update, anionayo! Things are a little complicated right now: Dana likes Alice, Alice likes Dana, neither of them wants to make the first move, and then there’s Lara… With all this, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dana chose to date Lara. I’m not against it either, as long as it’s Danish in the end. I’m curious what Jamie has to say about this, after all she’s not a Danish fan like us, lol, she should be unbiased on this. Even a blind men can tell Harrison is gay, but not Dana, lol. I love her even more now :) Sorry I missed the other two updates, I was away on a trip. I agree with you on the Alice – Dana – Lara thing. It was unrealistic and let me add ridiculous and stupid too. I wish things had been different, but we still have great stories like yours to make up for it. Thanks a lot!!!
