Chapter 10
“How come anytime I see you anymore you are all sweaty,” Alice questioned Dana as the brunette pulled up a chair across the table from her. Not that I am complaining mind you, the blonde added mentally.
“It’s called exercise Al, maybe you could give a try sometime,” Dana rejoined before taking a drink from her bottle of water. “Besides I am in the middle of the season. So training is my life more so than when it is the off season.”
“Which boggles the mind, really… I mean I thought you train plenty during fall semester… by the way a congrats to you and Harrison on the win over Berkeley in your doubles match.”
“Thanks… I just wish I did as well on my singles match. My backhand is severely lacking…” Dana shook her head in frustration.
“Well I know what will help,” Alice proclaimed shutting her laptop.
“Oh do tell Ms. Sports enthusiast.”
“You my friend, need to get out. I know for a fact you do not have a tournament this weekend. You should so go to Bette and Tina’s house warming party. It is going to be crazy… they have the best parties.”
Fidgeting a little bit with Alice’s now empty coffee cup Dana replied, “I don’t know. I mean I’ve only met them once and they were super nice but don’t you think it would be weird of me to show up?”
Alice waved off the lame excuse. “They invited you didn’t they? Besides Shane is going to be there to so it is not like you’re not going to know anyone… but that is the beauty of it too… because know one is going to know you. I highly doubt anyone from UCLA besides us will be at this party… Bette and Tina run in different circles.”
“I still don’t kn…”
“I am not accepting no for an answer,” Alice cut the athlete off. “Cooooommmmmme oooon Dana please!”
Not the damn puppy dog eyes…Alice never plays fair.
“Fine fine I’ll go. It is tomorrow right,” Dana said giving up with an exaggerated sigh.
“No, Saturday,” the blonde corrected.
“Shit. I can’t go then. The team is having dinner with some alumni of the school who recently gave money to the pay for our away trips for the next five years or something like that. Coach says it is mandatory.”

Yey, PARTEI!!! Man, Alice should have had a flirting partner at the party. So Dana can know that she wants Alice not REDHEAD…. :P I guess that’s too generic though. lol I’m glad Jamie is gonna appear again. Gah, she’s such a good friend. But I’m wondering… when Shane, Tina, and Bette were introduced? I guess Alice connected them to Dana? :) Heee… I’m excited. PPS
Ok lets hope Dana chooses Alice for sake of my sanity. PLEASE. Jamie is like Yoda from another town..and she seems to keep Dana in check. I agree with pandakse,Did alice do the chart thing and connect everyone together or did they just meet? Idk. But yet again another great post, Thank you

Another great update! Sweaty!Dana is a good thing. You write the Danish friendship conversations really well. “Not the damn puppy dog eyes” — Hee! Too funny that Dana didn’t realize Harrison was gay. I love how you wrote them coming out to each other while also saying they were both in the closet. Well done. I don’t think Harrison will be happy about that 6 AM run. “Herding cats”, indeed. Been there, done that. I don’t know if Harrison is gayer than Dana, but, it is a close call. So cute that Dana gave Al her jacket. I can’t wait to see how things fall out with Lara. Maybe it’s better to get her out of the way now so we can get on with the Danish? ‘Cause it is all about the Danish… Thanks so much for the great chapter, anionayo!!
It is always easier to comment after MaGoose. Pretty much what I would say. Look, as hard as it was to choose between A & L, it was only fair to D that she got to know each of them in depth. Without tasting the sourness, one will not appreciate the sweetness as much. They were all young and would have ample time to figure out what they wanted and needed. I totally trust that you will bring us happy danish ultimately. In the mean time, please feel free to let D live her life to the fullest. btw, love Harrison and Jamie. Thank you anionayo.
Amazing update, anionayo! Things are a little complicated right now: Dana likes Alice, Alice likes Dana, neither of them wants to make the first move, and then there’s Lara… With all this, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dana chose to date Lara. I’m not against it either, as long as it’s Danish in the end. I’m curious what Jamie has to say about this, after all she’s not a Danish fan like us, lol, she should be unbiased on this. Even a blind men can tell Harrison is gay, but not Dana, lol. I love her even more now :) Sorry I missed the other two updates, I was away on a trip. I agree with you on the Alice – Dana – Lara thing. It was unrealistic and let me add ridiculous and stupid too. I wish things had been different, but we still have great stories like yours to make up for it. Thanks a lot!!!
