Chapter 13
Dana and Jamie were having the time of their lives. Although many family members and friends had gathered for Jamie’s going away party, the two old friends found themselves sitting on the porch swing cracking each other up with stories from their years of friendship.
“New York, Jamie! I am so excited for you,” Dana said.
Jamie just smiled and concurred, “I can’t wait. NYU here I come.”
“New York has no clue it is about to be taken by storm,” Dana said with a chuckle.
Dana had always known that it was her friend’s dream to live in the Big Apple, so when Jamie had announced that she had gotten into NYU she was so happy for her. Of course, there was the little part of her that knew this would inevitably change their friendship- Dana was too much of a realist to think otherwise.
This past year, although they had talked at least once a week and email contently, it was a far cry from what they had once been- which was practically attached at the hip for five years. Now, it wouldn’t be a simple two hour car ride to see each other but 3,000 miles and a three hour time difference. The fact that Jamie’s parents were selling their home and moving to Maryland due to her dad’s promotion meant that when the redhead went home for holidays, home would not be to California. It made the situation much more upsetting for the brunette.
Jamie sensed her friend’s distress, but for once didn’t know what to say, because she, too, knew a change was coming.
Surprisingly, it was Dana who broke the silence. “I don’t care if it a week from now or a year or five years- you call me if you ever need anything. I am there,” Dana said softly looking off in the distance.
“Same goes for you,” Jamie said.
Dana was about to reply when she felt two hands on her shoulders and a voice whisper, “Hey babe.”
The tennis player immediately shot up out of her seat of her seat and looked around hoping none of the other party goers saw what just happened.

Yay! New chapter!! I have no problem with Dana getting laid. Hee! I hope Jamie and Dana can find a way to retain that friendship. Friends like that are hard to find. Too funny that Dana wants the last thing they do together to be a run. Looks like Lara/Dana may not last much longer. Love the playful Danish banter at this early stage. Yoda has already figured out the Danish goodness. I wonder if there is any Jealous!Dana over Kim… I gotta say: Dana is being perfectly honest in her dealings with Lara — Lara knows what she got into. Thank you so much for the excellent (and quick) update, anionayo!!
i feel both now and in the show that lara knew exactly what she was getting in to and i always pissed me off when she tried to pressure her. basically exactly what shane and alice said. i really like your timing with this. jumping ahead a bit and letting the readers fill in the gaps, during portions of the story where not much will be going on. i am very excited for dana to meet kim – or has that already happened? i guess i’ll find out. thanks for the quick update. maybe one tomorrow? :)
Sorry I did not have a chance to comment your previous post. You surprise me with this back to back update. Good job on the going away party. I am with MaGoose, plz keep Jamie around. So far, you are doing a fantastic job with the whole closeted issue and I feel for D. As much as I like to see a Danish ending, somehow, I wish D could work things out with Lara a little bit more. IMO, the show gave us a shocking break up of these two and it seemed unrealistic. I prefer the way you are handling their current situation. Xbox, that was greeaaatttt. Love that insightful Shane and a very cute A having fun with D. Keep up the good work, anionayo, but do not feel pressured posting so often. We readers can wait. Thank you very much.
Yay Dana for getting some, lol. I, for one, don’t think Lara pressuring Dana is that bad. Dana has to come out sooner or later, maybe all she needs is a little “help”. You almost made me cheer for Lara and Dana there at the end. I’m sad about Jamie. Hope to see her again. Thanks for the great updates!!!!
WOO HOO! Another post!? My birthday isnt for 40 days and like 16 hours though, LoL I have to echo the above comments–The playful banter is awesome as always. Glad Dana and Alice are working on the ‘friend’ stage before moving on to something more. No worries on getting to the Danish goodness, just do what you have to do to keep it excellent and get there. Lara is being a bit of a weiner! I mean she did know-probably from second one-that Dana was so far in the closet she was still finding Christmas prsents and she STILL tries to push, UGH! Anyway, you are doing an outstanding job. Dana getting laid might ease that ‘tension’ or at least mine :D LoL Im not going to object.Thank you so much for another great updat anionayo.
WOOT. I loved this story. I felt a little sad when Lara said it was okay. Because Shane is right. THEY NEED TO GET CLUE. I just want my danish. Sorry. I’m blabbing on. I love the story keep up the great work.
