    Well, now they know what is giong on. Now what?

     

    Somehow, Tina managed to lull herself to sleep as well as Bette and woke up confused by Dr. Miller gently saying her name and touching her shoulder.

     

    Dr. Miller whispered “Tina? Are you awake?”

     

    Tina became more clear and said “Oh my gosh, I must have fallen asleep”.

     

    Dr. Miller said “Well understandable, you guys had a rough day. How is Bette doing?”

     

    Tina said “She had dinner and no problems, but is really tired. I think she is pretty much out for the night”.

     

    Dr. Miller said “May we step outside and talk so that we don’t wake her? I am glad that she is feeling better”.

     

    Tina looked worried and said “Yeah, sure. Is everything  OK Dr. Miller?”

     

    Dr. Miller said “ Yes, Bette will be fine. The timing is off, but she will be fine. I guess I am delivering good but unsurprising news to the both of you tonight”.

     

    Tina said “What do you mean?”

     

    Dr. Miller said “Bette is pregnant. It is early, but she is definitely pregnant. So congratulations”

     

    Tina said “Wait…. What? Pregnant? Bette? Do you  the right lab reports?”

     

    Dr. Miller said “Yes Tina of course I have the right lab work. I mean, you two must have been trying to have a baby, right? Unless, is Bette sexually active with men?”

     

    Tina said “Not that I am aware of! I don’t think so. Ummm, no, not that she told me. What the hell is going on here? Bette cannot be pregnant. We were not trying to have a baby and furthermore, Bette has never talked about carrying… there has to be some sort of mistake”.

     

    Dr. Miller said “Tina, I don’t know what is going on in your personal life. I don’t know if you and Bette are monogamous or what, but I know how babies are made in a few different ways and Elizabeth Porter is Pregnant. It is early and I can’t tell for sure exactly how far along, but I would say that she is four weeks or so and just missed her period. She is pregnant and I am guessing the two of you need to talk about this”.

     

    Tina shook her head in disbelief. Bette told her she had not slept with Jodie since she started sleeping with Tina. Bette never mentioned any men, ever. Bette was completely turned off by men. Did Bette go and have an affair to try it like Tina did? What on earth had happened. Admittedly, she did not know everything Bette was doing, but she thought she had a pretty good clue as to what was going on.  Tina thanked Dr. Miller for the information and asked what happens a next. A sonogram tomorrow to find the heartbeat. Tina was confused and irritated. She went back into the room and saw Bette sleeping peacefully.

     

    Holy shit. She is pregnant. Does she know this? What is going on?
