CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

It was still early in the morning when Bette woke up. Her head was still clouded as she stretched. A smile graced her face – she had the entire day off. It promised to be a beautiful Thursday. It really was a pity that Tina had to go to work, but of course, as a teacher, you can’t just take the day off. Her love was also too honest and responsible to call in sick.

A ray of sunlight caressed the brunette’s skin. She let her hand wander to the left. She didn’t find the body that had held her all night long, frowned and looked at the clock. She groaned – it was even earlier than she had thought. And of course, it being Thursday, Tina had to start the 1st hour already. The love of her life was probably getting ready. Bette’s plan had been to catch all the sleep she had missed the past week because of Louise’s impromptu movie nights. That way, she’d have to miss Tina for a shorter time.

She heard a door closing and the clicking of heels. The door of the bedroom opened. Tina was obviously trying to be very silent so she wouldn’t wake her girlfriend up.

“I’m up, you know,” Bette whispered.

Tina jumped, startled. She smiled and turned around. “You really scared me there, you know.”

“Sorry.”

Tina turned on the light and Bette covered her eyes to protect them. When she finally lowered the blanket, she gasped. A smirk formed on her features. She wiggled her eyebrows. 

“You never used to dress like this back in L.A.”

Tina rolled her eyes. “Did you forget? Today, there’s the business games where the students pretend to have their own companies. The teachers have to coach.”

“And exactly how much do you know about economics?”

“Okay, nothing. But we did get instructions what to do with which problem.”

Bette once again took in the sight in front of her. The blonde’s body was hugged by a black desiger suit, consisting of a jacket with buttons up until right under her breasts, covering a white top and a straight skirt, ending just below her knees. She wore high heels which accentuated her long, toned legs. She had put two small earrings on and had applied slightly more make-up than she usually did. Red lipstick, eyeliner, a bit rouge, an inconspicious eyeshadow. Her hair was glowing, wavy and resting on her shoulders.
