Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit
Angie thought about the artwork around the apartment. She loved being surrounded with that which her mother loved. But there was no particular piece that she wanted to keep at the moment.
Angie: I’ll have to think about that. Nothing springs to mind at the moment. Why does Mom want to sell it?
Tina: She wants a whole new life and that means a whole new set of art work. She may decide to keep a piece or two. But she wants to have some new expressions in our new home. She acquired most of these pieces and now she wants both of us to select the art for our new home. And until we acquire a home, we really do not know what we want.
Angie: I see… a whole new life for everyone.
Tina: Yeah… that’s what we want.
Los Angeles – Tuesday morning
Bette and Daniel had gotten up early. Bette was up an hour before Daniel so she could fix her hair and dress and prepare breakfast before Daniel arrived in the kitchen ready to eat. Daniel seemed very much awake and looked confident as he sat down with his juice to await his plate.
Bette: Did you sleep last night Dan?
Daniel: Oh yeah. I think that volley ball game with Jordan and Shay wore me out. And dinner was wonderful. Do you think we could have a dinner like that some time?
Bette: After your Mama gets back maybe. She would need to help me with some of the meat preparation. I can handle the grilling part but the ribs have to be marinated first so they will be nice and tender.
Daniel: What about the bake beans and the potato salad? Mom makes carrot salad already.
Bette: Well, we can handle those. Even I can make bake beans and potato salad.
Daniel: Great then we will that have sometime this summer?
Bette: I don’t see why not.
They finished their breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen and then did their last-minute preparations and headed out the door. Traffic was heavy, but they arrived at the school at ten minutes to eight.
Bette went to the receptionist and announce that she and Daniel were there for an eight o’clock appointment with Principal Miller. The receptionist asked them to take a seat and the Principal Miller would be with them in a moment. Bette and Daniel took their seats in the sitting area. Soon they were greeted by a short woman in her late sixties who was a little on the heavy-set side with bright red hair.

Excellent chapter. Enjoying the growth in Bette and Tina & the family. Post soon!
Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…
As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
