    Then she turned on her heel to look at Jules in the eye.  “By the way, I just know Tina will be pissed.  If not at Bette, then at you.  Or at us.  So think of something that will calm her down, would you?”

    As Diane predicted, Tina was in a sour mood when Tina opened the front door of their duplex.  Diane shot Jules a dark look before she stepped into the vestibule, trailing in Tina’s wake, following the other blonde into the duplex, who was heading towards the open kitchen area.

    “Tina, I’m really sor…” Diane started to say to Tina’s retreating back.  Jules interrupted her with a quick kiss and walked ahead of Diane to quickly get to Tina’s side.  She held up a bunch of flowers to get Tina to stop, and mouthed when Tina looked at her, “I’m sorry.”

    Tina blew out a breath, and pursed her lips, and tried to smile at Jules.  Then she turned away from Jules, to lean against the back of a nearby chair, hanging her head.

    To Diane’s and Jules’ surprise she began to cry softly.

    Diane walked quickly next to Tina while Jules gently pulled her from leaning on the chair, and made her sit on another one, and then walked quickly to the kitchen to fetch Tina a glass of water.

    “Tina …” Diane said softly, as she knelt beside Tina, pulling her into an embrace.

    Tina sagged into Diane’s embrace, burying her face in her fellow blonde’s hair, as her sobs grew more pronounced.

    Jules bit her lip as she stood behind Tina, gently massaging their friend’s back even as Diane stroked her hair.

    “It’s just been sooo hard, Diane, watching her struggle.  She tries to keep it from me, you know, when she feels pain, or when a sudden memory flashes, and she winces involuntarily.”

    Diane began to shed tears also.  Jules had gone through her own sleepless nights, but, since Jules had been spared any serious injuries, her partner had managed to overcome her own unpleasant memories of the incident within weeks, after a few sessions with Dan.

    However, amongst those who had survived, it had been Bette who’d suffered the most injuries, since she was sitting on the passenger side where the semi had slammed hardest into.  ‘Til now, Diane didn’t know how the ordeal was playing out in Bette and Tina’s relationship, since Bette had been keeping a brave front, quietly working away on her rehabilitation while Tina seemed ever-ready with a supportive smile, tender kiss, gentle touch.

    4. I may be wrong, but it feels like you may be setting up the story for some drama with Dianne and Jules…. (at the bar with the guys and the party).
      And the way you ended here … yes it implies “sexy time” ……… BUT…….

      • Yes, you will see chapters soon. Just an insane travel schedule right now (or for much of the year so far, actually), from Acapulco to Beijing, Berlin to Colombo — crazy. There was a slight pause for Memorial Day, but otherwise…. Have not meant to keep readers hanging, and am going to post ASAP. I really like how the outline of this book is working out, so please let me know what you all think as the rest of the book unfolds. Thanks!

          I love to read a good book as long as it is entertaining. I see you are introducing two more new characters Diane and Jules into this new series I hope Bette and Tina aren’t fading into the background… Maybe Logan steps in uses Diane to uncover the mysterious guy who tried to hurt Bette and Tina? Finally my thought is persuading Tom to making a contribution by adding a fourth member to their family :)

    8. I love it when Bette and Tina go to these epic parties. PPS I want to see Tina’s surprise. I have a feeling it will greatly aid in Bette’s healing process.
