City of Love – Chater 1

Her cell phone rang and she looked at the caller ID grinning.

Shane: Hey man. Look out of your balcony.

Mark looked out of his balcony seeing Shane on the other side of the street waving.

Mark: Hey you’re early today. I’ll be there in five minutes.

Shane: Okay, hurry up, I’m starving.

5 minutes later Mark joined her.

Mark: Okay, where do you wanna go?

Shane: Well, while I was waiting for you I discovered a little café called “The Planet” not far away. Why don’t we try out that one?

    Mark: Alright. Let’s go.

They got into the new café. It was rather small but still cosy and comfortable. They looked for a table and sat down looking into the menu.

    Mark: So…how was your night?

    Shane: It was okay.

    Mark: Just okay?

    Shane: Yeah.

Mark: Your night with that hot blonde chick was just okay?

Shane: Mark, first of all. Why do always assume that I have slept with the girls just because we are leaving the club at the same time? And secondly. What the hell is wrong with the word okay? Do you prefer nice?

Mark: Okay to answer your first question. If you leave a club with a girl you just met you have the intention to get into her pants. Don’t tell me you were showing her your DVD collection, Shane. I know you. Therefore…I consider your first question as a rhetorical question. And to answer the second question. “Okay” and “nice” are relatives of “crappy”. Was it that bad? Too bad, she was really hot. What was wrong with her?

Shane looked at him shaking her head but grinning cheekily.

Shane: I don’t get why you keep asking for details, you know that I don’t talk about that kind of stuff.

Mark: Oh come on, I always tell you about my little adventures.

Shane: Yeah, I don’t even need to ask, that’s the difference.

Mark looked at her with pleading eyes, trying to convince his best friend but gave up when he saw Shane’s look.
