    Author Notes:

    The Thursday dinner continues… drama and a little love for Tina and Bette.

    They continued their stroll around the garden. They stopped every once in a while reminiscing about when they got a certain plant; every palm tree and exotic flower seemed to carry its own story.
    “When did you start to get better, Bette? When did you stop that downward spiral you were in for a while… cause you seem well these days… or better….?” Tina asked suddenly afraid to look at Bette.
    Bette laughed a little. “I seem well? You weren’t there when I ran out of the room because you mentioned my indiscretion with the carpenter?”
    “Yes, I was there… but still… you look good. You’ve stopped drinking… you’re eating again… and I can tell, you know, when I look in your eyes that some of that old Bette is starting to return.”
    “So you think I look good… but old…” Bette teased.
    “No, I don’t think you look old,” Tina giggled, “ skinny maybe, but not old… and I’ve always loved the way you look… you know that, so don’t play coy with me.”
    “Hmmm, nice to know…” Bette flirted, “I’ve always loved the way you look too… no change there.
    “Bette! Stop that…” Tina smiled, “you know I just wanted to know what caused you to put an end to your bad habits and move on.”
    “I realized that trying to forget you, to forget what I had done to you, wasn’t working – I needed far too much alcohol to uphold the amnesia… Kit helped me see, that I should start remembering instead… and maybe in a small way I could get off the couch and start feel something besides grief and self loathing…” Bette said, “I’m still waiting for the really positive feelings to kick in… it helps that you’re here though.”
    Tina smiled at Bette. “Kit is the best… I miss her…”
    “She misses you too…” Bette said, “maybe one of these days, the three of us could do something together?”
    “I’d like that very much… So what did you remember, when you stopped trying to forget?” Tina smiled and nudged Bette.
    Bette chuckled at the familiar feeling of having Tina walking so close to her that she could feel the heat from her body.
    “Well, Kit asked me to tell her stories of times when I was really happy… that helped me to remember that we weren’t all bad… that we weren’t just about my betrayal or about failing to connect. Tina, you and I had a connection so profound that it went beyond anything I’ve ever experienced… I sort of lost track of that. So that is what I remembered….” Bette said with a lump in her throat.
    Tina looked down to hide her eyes glazing over. “I know we did… that’s what makes all of this so painful… I know that we messed up something invaluable… we owe it to ourselves to try to salvage what we can, cause this kind of connection doesn’t come along very often…”

    7. well done ankar, I don’t know how I missed ch11 but I went back to read it….Its not easy for T to get over B’s betrayal and I understand her running to Henry and Mikey or anywhere…patience and some love will help mend T’s broken heart and mend her confidence I hope…PPS

    8. Yes you were right something good did come from Tina’s outburst. I was really worried for a moment, but they talked about what they were feeling and that is important. I love how it wasn’t just Bette initiating the talking or the touching which is a positive sign. They belong together and this was a good step in that direction. Keep posting.

    13. What are u talking about “if” i read this chapter? Its WHEN i read u’r new chapters. Just to clarify that :) U had me a little scared from Tina blowing up on Bette, just for a sec. I thought this chapter was great. I’m glad they are starting to work things out and get closer. I’m kinda worried about Henry though. Hopefully he wont mess around with Tina’s emotions toward Mikey. Looking forward to u’r next post. So PPS.

    16. Bette and Tina talking openly and honestly with each other—got to love it. I guess they both have to realize that the pain they put each other through isn’t going to go away that quickly, it will take time and work on both their parts to be able to put that pain behind them and move forward. Since the love is still there they can do it together. Please don’t have Henry use his own son to take his hurt out on Tina because Mickey is just an innocent child in all of this and two wrongs don’t make a right. I can’t get enough of your wonderfull story telling anker, so please post again soon and thanks!

    18. I really love how they are reconnecting. There is some intense time but also some special moments time. It is going to take this kind of remembering and working through the pain to get to a spot that they can once again share their lives with each other. I love this front seat view of my favorite couple working to be friends first and hopefully lovers and wives next.

    22. This was a lovely chapter, after the storm, the calm and love arrived and Tina did it so good, if in the last chpater i was a little anger with her with this one i love her more. It will be difficult for Tina her meeting with Micky but Bette will be there for support her. thanks for this lovely post
