Denial / Acceptance / Lust / Love-Chapter 50
3 days later, Alice’s work
Alice Pieszecki was typing hard on her keyboard, her face contorted with concentration as a pencil was held firm in her mouth. Her eyes glanced at the clock. She had given herself five more minutes to finish her emails before she was packing up for the day. She allowed her mind to wander to Dana. A glimmer of a smile caressed her lips; she could not falter their life together so far. They had gone from strength to strength, both working on their vow to communicate more and to appreciate the other as a gift that should not be taken for granted. Her thoughts turned to that note. Although telling Dana nothing was going to come of it, she could not help but wander who had so crudely placed the letter on the car. Maybe it was the journalist in her but it was a topic that was bothering her and one in which she had to find out more. Before Alice could continue her investigative thoughts a small knock at the door shook her back into reality and the pencil was put correctly into the desk tidier.
“Come in”. Alice’s assistant Cooper entered and shut the door behind him. “Those files you asked for are ready Miss Pieszecki and the Langdon’s have been contacted and the meeting has been set for Wednesday, is there anything else I can do for you?” Cooper sauntered over to the desk where Alice sat half staring at the screen and half at him. She clicked a few times then turned her attention forward completely. “No that’s all Coop, you’re free for the night my slave.” Cooper cracked a smile. He was fresh out of college and eager to make an impression. Journalism was his goal, getting there was not going to be an easy road and he knew it. Running around after others and being a typical lackey was not his dream job but if it meant getting a foot in the rung of a dream career he was more than willing. It also didn’t hurt that his boss was very easy on the eye, smart and witty at the same time. If they had met under different circumstances Cooper was sure he would have asked her out already, however he had to be professional for the mean time, at least until he figured out if she returned his inappropriate feelings.

Welcome back De_leish_ous! This is only the 2nd time I comment on your story and how grateful I am that you decide to continue. I am dying to find out who spiked D’s drink with LSD and who left the note. So was it Andrea? You definitely have not lost your touch in writing this wonderful story. Your sense of humor is palpable, “Bette who was barking down the phone at James.” lol. & Andrea “had officially lost her mind”? more laughts. I smell trouble with Ryan and David OMG, and Andrea too. Promise that you will not lead us into the psycho thriller zone. I hate to see either one of them getting hurt. Maybe just a little?! hehe. Seriously, I enjoyed this update tremendously and am honored that this chapter went out to me. *blush* Looking forward to your next post and thank you very much De_leish_ous!!!
I am beyond thrilled to see an update to this story! Thanks so much for continuing on with it. I am glad that Dana and Alice seem to be so strong right now. Sounds like they will need it with Cooper and Andrea out there. Great update!! PPS?
