‘I’m sorry about the way I acted towards you yesterday, I’d love to come with you to San Francisco, I could do with a break’. Alice took her eyes off the road for a couple of seconds and gave Dana an apologetic smile that Dana wearily returned.
‘I’ll inform the hotel of another guest then.’ The athlete interlinked her hand with Alice’s free one and relaxed into her seat, knowing that things were going to be ok.
1 Month Later, Alice and Dana’s Home
Alice and Dana were on the couch relaxing in their home sipping wine whilst listening to music, something they had begun to do more often after the chaos that had been Andrea. Dana was lying down, her head nestled in Alice’s lap as the blonde sat sprawled leisurely, her head back and eyes closed, softly humming along. Dana looked up and seen the tranquil expression on her girlfriend and fell in love with her all over again. This was what life was meant to be like. Moments like this made everything worthwhile, gave her meaning, purpose and something to cherish and look forward to. Carly Simon’s Nobody Does it Better filled the room and Dana smiled to herself.
‘Alice?’ Alice opened her eyes and returned the smile. ‘Yeah?’ Without replying, Dana shifted her legs and sat up pulling Alice with her. She stood opposite the writer and brought their bodies closer then began to sway slowly to the music. Cheesy as it probably was, Dana felt that Carly was right in everyway, nobody did it better than Alice, she was the best.

I love this story! Although as a reader, I am sad to see it end. As a writer I know how good it feels to finish telling the story you wanted to tell. And what a sweet ending it was. Love the comfort they have found with each other. Beastie Boys – Hee! The conversation at the end was just excellent. They are both so much more committed to the relationship now. Well done! Thank you so much, De_leish_ous, for this story and being such a strong Danish presence on the site. I hope we continue to see fiction from you.
