Alice just sighed as they rocked back and forth. How could she still be surprised daily by this amazing woman in front of her that she thought she knew so well? She felt so damn complete, so sure of herself and her life right now, she could honestly say that if she died tomorrow she would die a happy woman. Dana slipped her arms tighter around Alice’s waist and leaned into whisper. ‘I love you.’ It was said with such sincerity that Alice couldn’t say anything in return and instead cupped Dana’s chin and kissed her. It was gentle, barely felt at first, slightly grazing to Dana’s bottom lip and yet it was perfect. Their bodies stopped swaying and stood at attention to what was happening between them. Alice grew bolder and ran her tongue across the slightly swollen flesh, teasing the sides of Dana’s mouth open so that she would gain guaranteed access, something that wouldn’t have been denied anyway. Dana’s hands moved from the blonde’s hips and up to her disorganized hair, weaving through the chaos and gripping intently. The song stopped although neither had realised until the Beastie Boys interrupted the tender moment and both women pulled apart and just had to laugh. 

‘Way to let your bad taste spoil the ambience Al,’ Dana said walking over to the Ipod dock and flicking her way through songs that she knew, some she didn’t and ones she’d be embarrassed to own let alone play.

‘Don’t start Fairbanks, someone who likes Lionel Ritchie shouldn’t throw stones,’ the blonde exclaimed rather happy at her twist on the old adage. She saddled up to her girlfriend and peeked over her shoulder. ‘Not that one…or that…maybe that…ooh she’s good…nah…’ Dana arched her brow and chuckled as she handed over the device to her fickle woman.

‘Here, make it good or Lionel’s going on.’ Dana sat down again and took a drink of her merlot. Alice selected Roads by Portishead and glanced over at the athlete for approval.

‘Not that one,’ Dana said quietly. Alice looked at her quizzically and skipped it forward. ‘Why not, it’s an amazing song,’ she replied taking her place on the sofa and reaching for her own glass.
