Destined Souls: Chapter 11

Previously….

This conversation was over as far as Tina was concerned.

“Tina, listen to me…” But the phone had already gone dead before Kathy could finish her sentence.

Kathy was fuming. How could Tina just end the call while she was still talking?

“You don’t know what you are getting yourself into Tina. I will not let you make the same mistake again Tina not while I am still here.”

Chapter 11

Who’s on the lookout?

Tina came back into the kitchen rubbing the back of her neck. She could feel the faint signs of a headache coming on. Bette seeing the thoughtful and anxious look on Tina’s face called out to her.

“Tee….?”

Tina was lost so deep in her thoughts that she didn’t hear the first time Bette called her. Bette got up and slowly walked towards her wanting to know what had turned her mood down so suddenly.

“Tina? Are you alright? What happened?”

Hearing the worry in Bette’s voice brought Tina out of her daze and she looked up. Seeing Bette so concerned brought a light smile on Tina’s lips.

“It’s nothing to worry about babe. Just some work stuff. So what do you want to do today?” Tina didn’t want to worry Bette unnecessarily before she found out what was going on with Kathy.

Bette recognized the subtle way in which Tina had changed the subject but she let it pass, figuring that whatever it was Tina would let her know when she was ready.

“We can do anything you want Tee.” Bette said with a big grin on her face.

“Is that so? Anything I want huh, you sure?” Tina said with a twinkle in her eyes that was rewarded with a heartfelt laugh from Bette.

Bette absolutely adored this mischievous side of Tina. Chuckling softly Bette pulled Tina closer to her, resting her arms around Tina’s waist.

“Absolutely! How about you go freshen up and I will make a couple of calls. Then we will go do whatever you want okay?”

Tina nodded smiling up into the warm brown eyes.

As Bette turned to go, Tina pulled her back towards her and gently cupped Bette’s face in her hands. She looked deep into the soulful chocolate brown orbs before her for a moment and then lovingly kissed the corner of Bette’s mouth before sauntering off to shower with an extra swagger of her hips. Bette just stood there stunned and clearly flushed for the second time that day. Just one kiss and she still leaves me all hot and bothered, she thought. Hot damn!
