    Short Story – Chapter 4 – It was a simple, gentle kiss…

    Discovering Aphrodite

     

    “Romance? Holiday?” Bette repeated, completely taken aback by the boldness of Tina’s question and also the sheer unabashed way in which she had asked the question.

     

    “Actually…, holiday romance, rather than romance holiday…” Tina said in reply as she smiled at the dumbfounded Bette standing next to her and looking around in an also agitated way.

     

    “Uh…, yes…, no…., uh…, what did you say?” Bette said, thrown into complete state of being flustered with such an out of the blue and bold question.

     

    Tina smiled, could this woman get any more adorable than she did at that moment?  She wouldn’t have thought she would of had those reactions in her wildest imagination.  She had seemed so confident and composed, but maybe she had been caught off guard.

     

    Tina took a deep breath, easing her own beating chest, she gave a slight laugh, unsure whether her question was intended in the way it was being taken, “just a question…, have you ever had a holiday romance…”

     

    “So you uh…,” Bette said, her mouth drying as she tried to formulate her words, “you uh…?”

     

    Tina looked deeply into Bette’s eyes, “just a question…”

     

    “Oh…, um…, I uh had one when I was on a trip in college…” Bette said, slightly perturbed that she had been completely caught off guard. “I was about eighteen I guess, a trip to Italy and she was called…” Bette smiled as she remembered the moment, “she was called Adriana…, she was beautiful…”

     

    Tina smiled in reply, “sounds like good memories…”

     

    “Yeah I guess they are, I haven’t thought about her in a long time…” Bette said as she glanced back out to the near setting sun. “It’s a gorgeous sunset tonight…,” she said, changing the subject.

     

    Tina stood beside Bette, standing closer than she had been.  She slipped her arm through Bette’s as she quietly replied, “it certainly is…”

     

    “You wanna walk along the front?” Bette asked.

     

    “Sure…” Tina said as they turned from the sunless sky, “isn’t strange how quickly the sun disappears as soon as it hits the water…”

     

    Bette turned suddenly and gave a wide smile, “you know I thought I was the only person to think that…”

    1. Hey….well i have to agree with Tina here..Bette could not be more adorable than she is in this story..and tho Bette didnt hear Tina as she left her..i kinda have a feeling the wait will be worth it..Great update to a really lovely story that you can “see” unfolding :)

    2. I am not into torture, but that is what you are doing to me ,JO. Tina needed to speak up louder. Bette was in her own thoughts and didn’t hear Tina. Aphrodite will definitely show up tomorrow for them. I expect one HOT night when they do get together. Great update. Please post soon.
