    Bette recognized the sincerity in Tina. And she recognized that the connection they felt for each other was not something that happened everyday to many people.

     

     

    “You know when I saw you with Shane on Sunday; I was really sad and angry. I thought at first that it was jealousy I was feeling, but then when I really though about it over the past few days, I realized it was more, it was a sense of loss.”

     

    “How do you mean Bette?”

     

    “Well, I have never been one to give of myself, emotionally I mean. Not that I am not generous with my friends and family, for my attention, or for my affection. But after that day with you, when we sat in the hospital, and then later at your place, I felt like…well, like I was home. That I had finally reached where I was supposed to be in life. And it seemed like that was supposed to be with you. But when I saw you in Shane’s arms, I assumed you were with her and it really took me for a loop. I have spent the last few days trying to get you out of my head and away from my heart so I could function. I want to get to know you too and…”

     

     

     

    Before Bette could finish her sentence, Tina had her lips on her. She licked at the opening to Bette’s mouth desperately wanting access to her tongue, to her taste. When Bette opened her mouth for Tina, she felt the last of her walls around her heart fall away.

     

    As the evening became night, the ladies shared a few drinks and a few dances.  It was very late, or very early depending on your view of the time, and both ladies were tired. Bette walked Tina to her car and gave her a soft lingering goodnight kiss.

     

    “I would love to see you tomorrow night, or tonight I guess it is now. I will be working until around 7, but if you’re free, would you like to have dinner with me after that?”

     

    “Um, well, actually, I have plans with a bunch a friends, but you are welcome to join us if you like? We are just hanging out at my place for dinner and poker night?”
