“That was an exceptional dinner, don’t you think darling?” Melvin asked his wife Maxine, they were walking down the street with Bette and Emery not too far behind them.

“Yes it was very delicious, Elizabeth! Emery! come up here,” Maxine said without turning around, the girls walked quicker and started walking with Maxine and Melvin,

“How did you like dinner ladies?”

“Oh daddy, it was amazing! You know how much I love that place,” Bette said smiling, she had only been to Romaine’s only once before, it was expensive, but the food was delicious.

“I exceptionally loved it Mr. and Mrs. Porter, very exquisite.” Emery said smiling at the two older adults.

“Elizabeth, why do you insist on walking?” Bette’s mother complained

“Mommy, it is such a nice day out, and you know how much I love to walk. Plus I want to go through the path in the forest; it is so pretty during the evening.”

“Melvin…” Maxine did not want to go through the forest,

“Maxine, it is Elizabeth’s birthday, she shall get what she wants,” Melvin smiled at Bette, the forest was fast approaching.

When they reached the forest, the path was about 40 minutes, and then you turn a corner and walk for another 20 minutes and Bette’s house was in site. The girls walked ahead of Melvin and Maxine, so they were out of ear shot,

“Today was wonderful Emery. Best birthday ever,” Bette said smiling at her, her hand was dangerously close to Emery’s, wanting to hold it. “I love you so much,”

“I love you too. Thanks for inviting me tonight, I know how much you love spending time with you’re dad,”

“I love spending time with you more, my dad will never have the time for me, except on the rare occasion, and you know, since you came into my life all those years ago, I’ve been okay with it,”

“I want to make love too you right now,” Emery whispered in Bette’s ear, Bette felt herself flood down below and her body shivered. She wished they could detour off the path and into their secret cabin, it wasn’t really dark yet, the sun would be setting in about 30 minutes so they would be alright. The cabin was a near 5 minute walk, it was just out of site, behind a large oak tree.
