Feeling safe and wanted again – Chapter 39
“You’ve been here the whole time? Tina you should’ve gone home so you could sleep and also have Evan sleep in his own bed.” Bette says with a bit more strict voice.
“I couldn’t leave you Bette, you were just barely holding on for two days, I just couldn’t go anywhere.” Tina says, tears erupting again. “I needed to stay close to you.” Tina whispers.
“Well I’m okay now, so tonight you are going home with Evan and get a good night’s sleep, okay? Bette says.
“Okay, but I’ll be back first thing tomorrow when the visitor hour opens up.” Tina says.
“Hey, you have work and Evan has kindergarten tomorrow. Go to work and come by after. I’ll be okay. I’m okay, don’t worry about me.” Bette says.
“Don’t worry? I worry all the time about you, when you’re out on the streets. And three days ago my worst nightmare came through. You died on the table Bette…” Tina is crying hard now. “Two times they had to bring you back. I’ve been so scared and it physically hurt, I could barely breathe when Brad came to tell me.” She says and looks a little angry at Bette. “So don’t tell me not to worry, because I worry all the time, and I’ll keep worrying all the time until you’re retired.” Tina adds with her angry voice, but she’s not angry at Bette, she’s just scared. Bette understands that without Tina telling her flat out. Tears are also streaming down Bette’s eyes now and the heart monitor starts to beep faster.
“Bette?” Tina says worriedly
“Get… the… doctor Tina. Something is… wrong.” Bette gets out in blocks.
Tina panics and rushes out to the nurse’s station.
“Someone, help, Bette’s… something is wrong.” Tina cries out. Two nurses hurries into the room with Tina close behind.
“What’s happening?” Tina asks.
“Page the doctor, right now.” One of the nurses says to the other. “We don’t know. We need you to step out of the room.” The nurse says.
“No, I don’t want to leave her.” Tina cries.
“I know, but we need room to help her okay? Go to the waiting room, I’ll come out shortly.” The nurse says, just as the doctor comes rushing in.

BadgeBunny is right. Tina should learn to rein it in. Please, let Bette be alright.
Please let her be OK! PPS
I love her, but that was bad, bad, bad of Tina to go at Bette about her job, when the woman is lying in hospital, after coming out of a coma.
Just when everything started to look up for Bette and Tina this set back hampers Bette’s recovery.
Hi Lauren, I know it was just an oversight that you didn’t post the update on this cliff hanger today right? thanks ppps!!!!
Chewing Bette out for what she does for a living was not a good thing while she is recovering.
Lauren, please let her be o.k.Thank you for the update.
Just read your updates. Please don’t let anything happen to Bette! Post soon Please!
