Previously –
Shane sensed that Dana and Alice needed to talk and offered to pick up dinner from The Planet for everyone to allow them a chance to talk.
Chapter 16 –
“What’s wrong Dana?” Alice asked after Shane left to pick up dinner.
“Huh? Where did Shane go?” Dana was lost in thought and did not realize Shane left.
“She went to get dinner. What caused you to drift off into Dana land?” Alice asked with a smile.
“I was thinking about what Dr. Kelly said. I have a lot to figure out in the next few days.”
Alice was confused, she thought they had already covered everything. “What do you need to figure out? I thought we talked about you going home already?”
“I know you said you would stay with me and help out, but 4 weeks is a long time. I…I can’t ask you to do that. I can’t ask you to put your life on hold that long to take care of me.” Dana looked away as she spoke. She knew Alice would be hurt by her statement.
“Dana, I know 4 weeks seems like a long time, but its okay. I told you, I can easily work from your place and I am in no rush to jump into some relationship that would take up all of my time. Besides, I want to do it.”
“I don’t know Alice. I need to talk to Dr. Kelly some more, make sure I don’t need a nurse to draw blood or something.”
“What? Dana where is this coming from? Dr. Kelly already told you that you would not go home if you needed things like blood work everyday. If a nurse is needed for something like that than he will have you schedule an appointment to come to his office and I can bring you.” Alice was beginning to get frustrated. She did not understand why Dana was having so much hesitation about letting her take care of her at home.
“I just need time to figure some stuff out.” Dana was becoming upset and her anger was showing. She was just asking for time to figure everything out and Alice was getting frustrated with her.
Alice could see Dana’s frustration and did not want to upset her more. “I am not going to argue about this. It is your life and your decision. I just want the truth when you finally decide what you want.” Alice sat silently staring at the tv while Dana became lost in her thoughts again.

I completely understand both of their concerns. It is really a tough call. If I were in D’s shoes, I wouldn’t want to further hurt A should my health deteriorate and die. Then again, if I were A, given the history, I would spend every waking moment with D. Life is short, who knows. Hopefully, they would work something out. It was impressive that A was able to finally reveal her feelings. D should be next in repeating what she said to S to A. D had some much to process and I hope A would continue to be patience with D. Thanks Cougar.
You have nothing to worry about, cougar! You wrote this chapter amazingly well. You write Alice, Dana and Shane so well. I especially like how you wrote Dana’s frustration with the situation. Also how you wrote Alice’s guilt at not being there when Dana was close to dying. So good that they both got this off their chests. Hopefully they can move forward from there. Thanks for another great chapter!
that was great I just hope that they can work it all out between them please post soon great update I love this story
yay go danish..though that was a heart warming chapter i still think dana has alot of sucking up to do after she gets better that is :) i hope you dnt make it easy for her she needs to prove to alice that she reeeeeealy loves her and only her neways thats what i think feel free to ignore me loved it ;)
