    Forever Friends Ch. 26

    “Hey Al!”

“Um Shane, I don’t think we are going to be able to make dinner tonight.  Dana woke up feeling sick and I don’t think she will feel up to it.”

“Is she okay?”  Shane’s voice was laced with worry.

“Yeah.  She is asleep right now.  We had a long day yesterday and I think it caught up to her this morning.”

“A long day?  You didn’t get her drunk or anything?”  Shane was kidding, but also a little annoyed that Alice would allow Dana to have a long enough day to cause her to be sick this morning.

“Hell no!  What the fuck Shane?  Do you really think I am that stupid?  I listened to Yoda and talked to her about the nightmares and what happened while she was in the hospital.”  Alice let out a frustrated moan.

“Oh…”  Shane felt a guilty about thinking Alice would do something to cause Dana any pain.  “Are you okay?”

“Yeah…”  Alice sighed.  “I told her about Lara.”

“Wow…I guess you did have a long night.  If you need to get away for a few hours to clear your head or just be alone, give me a call and I will come stay with Dana.”

“Thanks Shane, but I’m really okay.  Just let the others know that I am sorry about dinner and we will try to come by The Planet tomorrow after her doctor’s appointment.”  Alice felt bad about not going to dinner knowing everyone was looking forward to seeing Dana and spending time together as a group.

“It’s okay Al.  I figured Dana wouldn’t feel up to dinner today when I saw her yesterday.  So don’t worry about it.”

“Thanks again Shane.  Tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving for us and we will see you tomorrow.  Bye Shane.”

    “Bye Al.”

Alice hung up her phone and decided to straighten the condo and try to get some work done while Dana was asleep.

Dana rolled over when she heard Alice typing away on her laptop in the chair.

“How long are you going to lay there and watch me before saying anything?”  Alice glanced over her screen just in time to see the redness rise in Dana’s cheeks.

“I didn’t want to disturb you while you were working.”
