    From Afar

Now Tina opened her eyes wide and leaned up on her elbows to
survey the bed.  No one was there.  She was in bed alone.  The bed had not even been disturbed.  Confused Tina furrowed her brow and called
out for Bette “Bette Bette where are you?”

Not getting a response back, Tina pulled the blankets back
and reached for her robe.  Making her way
to Anna, Tina quickly picked her up and began cooing calmly to Anna.  Feeling her forehead, no fever.  She must just be a little off schedule.  Taking her to the changing table, Tina
quickly changed her diaper and put Anna back in her crib where she was quickly
    returning to sleep.

With Anna taken care of Tina’s thoughts immediately returned
to Bette.  Tina now set her mind on
finding just where Bette may have gone.
She could have sworn Bette went to bed when she did but to look at the
bed it was obvious that no one else had slept there.  Walking through the house all was dark and
quiet.  Looking in the living room, no
Bette the kitchen and bathroom no Bette,
the office no Bette.  Tina even
went out on the patio and walked around the pool No BETTE.

Now Tina was beginning to panic as she had no idea where
Bette could be.  Running out the front
door to check for her car it was gone.
‘OH GOD where has she gone.’ Tina says to herself.

    ‘Think Tina Think!’

Now Tina’s heart was in her throat something just didn’t
feel right about this.  What was Bette
trying to say last night?  The more Tina
thought the more panic began to set in.
The pre-dawn quietness of the house instead of comforting Tina, now
    mocked her.

Tina returns to the bedroom and sits on the side of the
bed.  Turning on the light she looks
around.  There is nothing in this room
that speaks of Bette.   It’s like she
doesn’t live her anymore.  As soon as
that thought hit Tina brain a corresponding stake of pain and fear hits her
    heart.

Chapter 118 – The Need for Quality Time

Bette awoke, something startled her.  Listening in the dark, it was still early in
    the pre-dawn morning.  Listening intently
to the sounds of the night, Bette doesn’t hear anything out of the norm.  Turning toward Tina, Bette moves close to
touch her.  Just as Bette reaches Tina,
she jerks.  This causes Bette to pull
back and lean on one elbow looking at Tina.
Bette could see in the night’s darkness enough to see Tina’s face.  She must be in some type of dream.  The intensity of pain centered on Tina’s
    face, pierced Bette’s heart.

    1. What?! I always like that one word expression. It can expresss so much. There were spelling errors? I did not notice any, then again, there’s an experiment where they found most people can understand anything written as long as most of the letters are there.I like that you had Bette and Tina connecting; especially in the early morning hour; to me, that’s the most innocent hour.I sincerely can not express how much I enjoy your story. I appreciate yours and all the other writers for sharing their time and creativity. I’m sure most, if not all, of the readers appreciate it. It sure makes waiting for The L Word more bearable. Thanks and Aloha!

    2. whoa.. drama… my comp has been down for quite a while now… thank god that guy got it fixed by yesterday… let me tell you, i’ve been reading the last 8/9 chapters in one shot; and boy am i glad to post on this chapter just in time *wink* anyways, i hope you wouldn’t leave us hanging for too long… great chpater as ALWAYS!

    3. hey jwet!Well first of all, I must say that I’ve read ALL you stories last week(yeah, it took me a lot of time…)and I have to say that you deserve your 2 awards…:)!It’s amazing how you can express B&T’s feelings with such accuracy…Now, moving on to the next topic, this chapter.. 3 things to say: 1°Thanks God it was just a dream!2°what the hell was that of I DON’T KNOW IF I SHOULD ADOPT ANNA? I hope they can ralk about it!3°Post soon!

    4. Ok, I know I have jet lag, plus I haven’t had much sleep the past week but I have to agree with Tina, “What?!”How does Hels wanting Anna lead to Bette thinking she shouldn’t adopt? I have to get some shuteye and then think about this one. Oh, hopefully I should be grounded til the new year…no more airports for a while…I’m back home in the oh so hot and sunny Caribbean!

    5. Damn drama coming, I know what Bette was doing and this is the only way that to save Anna from Helena and she just don’t want anything bad happen to Anna. Ok let see what’s next, thanks!

    6. Great chapter J. Iam thinking that Bette rationale is based on the two points. First, because of what John said about the fact that he thinks that Helena wants Anna. If Helena does want Anna (Porbably thinking that Tina will follow.) then if she goes ahead with her adoption plans now, it will only make Helena double her attack on Bette. Secondly, with all of the bad perss about the foundation and the photo’s at Mocca, there is too much that could damage Bette attempt at adoption right now. I think that they should deal with and fomulate a counter attack against Helena first before they expose themselves to any more personal and public damage from her. B&T are together and Tina considers Bette as Anna other parent, so they should deal with and resolve things with Helena first.

    7. WHAY my ass…! well this in gonna be good!!! ok Bette has a very valid reason…right? and you love the drama …right? so bring it on,oh by the way loved the lovin!!!lol

    8. Very, very nice. And I’m relieved it was a nightmare. They’re going to handle this stuff together as it should be. By the way, would that be QMS? (Quiet Monkey Sex?)

    9. J,It has taken me this long to catch up with your story. I know, I read really slow & sporadically. What to say? What a very tangled web you weave. This is quite a story (soap opera) you’ve got on your hands and I’m enjoying it to say the least. If I were to say more, I’d say greatness….

    10. My fingers are feeling better now thanks to this post maybe but that was so evil of you to make me think bette was hurt!!!!!!!! And now your trying to give me a heart attack with this shuold i adopt anna or not not crap of course you should!!!!!!!!! post before i have a heart attack!!!!!!!!!!

    11. The sexual re-connect – yummy.. get rid of H and it’s clear for adoption. Your Bette and Tina are so fluid, you amaze me. I can hear them in every sentence.

    12. Great chapter, I love it that they’re talking and making time for them selves, but Hello, you can’t stop there, you have to post like right now LOL I’m eagerly waiting the next chapter.

    13. AHHH! jwet??? what are you trying to do to Tina?? making her wait for the next post too see what happens….pfft… :) I hope Bette says everything right and that Tina will understand. Thanks for the great story. have a good night :)

    14. Amazing chapter as always mate – intense reconnection required by both parties and it was as intense as it could possibly be. I love they way Bette now has that “animalistic primal need” for Tina, you write the intensity and passion of their relationship so well their are almost real people (I have to keep telling myself that they are fictional – but it doesn’t always work!!)Now wandering around that pedestal – I have one of those bottomless bags like Mary Poppins, only its much trendier, and the first thing that I pull out of it is a mop and bucket – so there is no need for a drool tray, I also have some strong ointment for the rash on my chin where the drool keeps running down – its not attractive to have a red raw chin from constant drooling from looking at SHSL!

    15. Great post as always JWET.WOW…what a way to come out of a dream and ‘feel’ reality. WOOHOO…started my Sunday off right!!!!Your writing is totally awesome and throughout your chapters, you have written some wonderful words that ‘just say it all’. Here are my favorite lines from this chapter:”You are my home, my life, my existence. I can’t leave you and still live.” {where is that damn Kleenex box!} And this line ‘Bette says holding Tina’s hand up. “I need to feel connected to you. It’s not a time thing it’s a quality thing.”‘ Quality is better that quantity (unless it’s HMS which could be argued by some that quantity is right up there with quality…hmmmm….but I digress….oops).Thanks for sharing your gift of writing with us JWET!

    16. i think i underestood Bettes point at this moment.with all that shit happening now the adoption process could be prejudiced..and she may think they have to wait..am i right?..im glad they found some time to be together and talk..great as always Jwet… cant wait for more… thanks :o)

    17. Well, in responce to your responce of my last comment, yes totally, but I think Alice should be stoned most of the time… it’s just funny! And now for today’s comment, Wow!! totally didnt see that comming! Not that getting smacked in the face with an NC-17 is a bad thing… nevermind… ehh… good job, excellent work…

    18. first, thank goodness that it was just a bloody dream *breathing again and wiping sweat from my forehead*, second, it’s great that they are trying to have time together and the reconnection was great, third, i know bette doesn’t mean not to adopt angie at all but maybe kinda stop it right now until they deal with hellno…thanks, wonderful story, post soon

    19. Well, what do you know?! Thank goodness that it was only a dream. It did cross my mind but for some reason I dismissed it, thinking that it couldn’t be so obvious. I guess, in a way, Tina’s subconscious is giving her a wake up call after the previous days’ events and not being able to spend quality time with Bette. Glad to see that B&T finally gets the chance to talk and relieve their frustrations. Please tell me that Bette’s dilemma about adopting Anna is just a ruse to lay low until Helena blows over. “What!!” indeed! Looking forward to the next posting. Thanks.

    20. oh god your doing it again. have much mail have you been getting lately????? first part delicious. WHAT???? is a little hard to hear.i got your musings and loved it mistress. teehee
