Bette asks the waiter to put the table with the food near the window so they can serve themselves easily while they enjoy the view. She clears the sofa and gives the man the dirty plates of the kids, so the suite looks a bit tidier. Then she makes her way back to the bedroom to check if everything is ok. Tina is just kissing Angie good night, softly as the girl seems to be entering dreamland. She gets up and walks to the door, next to Bette she turns around for a last look at the kids, in an impulse she puts her arm around Bette´s waist. Bette´s body tightens instantly by this unexpected move of Tina. She knows Tina doesn´t mean anything with it, just a friendly act but it comes so suddenly that it makes Bette startle for a moment. Tina feels Bette´s body tighten and realizes her action. She takes her arm away and says “ We are lucky” as she looks over to the sleeping little ones. Bette is not sure how to reply, and before she is able to Tina walks turns around and makes her way to the living room. Bette sighs, the moment is gone and she feels confused. Are they really lucky? She wipes her forehead in an attempt to get the tension away and after a short look at the kids she also makes her way to the living room.

Tina is sitting at the small table, organizing the food and pouring another white wine in their glasses. She looks up and shows a small apologizing smile to Bette. Bette doesn´t say anything, just smiles back and takes a seat. “The food smells great and it looks even better, now I realize that I am actually quite hungry.” She comments. “ Me too, I wasn´t aware of it but I haven´t eaten anything since I came off the plane.” “The same here.” Bette responds as she picks up her plate to put some different ingredients on it. Tina does the same and then they eat in silence for a little while, each in their own thoughts. Bette would like to hear more about Tina´s and Sam´s relationship with Henry but she doesn´t want to push Tina. Tina is back with her thoughts back at the bedroom and Bette´s reaction on her act. She hadn´t been aware of the fact that it might make Bette uneasy. “Sam is a sweet boy.” Bette tries, speaking with a tender voice, looking over her glass to Tina. Tina lifts up her face from her plate, getting back to reality, smiling tenderly as she thinks of her little boy.” Yes he is and he is clever and funny too. He has a lot of energy which isn´t always easy to deal with as he drives the nanny crazy.” She smiles and talks with a soft voice with a laughter in it. “You seem to be doing a good job, T.” Bette replies, their eyes catch for a moment, then Tina looks away.

    1. This is a great story. They are both hiding so much from each other right now. I want to see how you work through how uncomfortable they both are. Thanks for posting!

    2. I love this story…I can feel B&T awkwardness to each other as they havent really been in friendship terms…. Their situation is very uncomfortable and painful for Bette because of she loose T. Then Angie and Sam are both missing the presence of one of their parent in their life early age, although, Angie get to see T bi-coastally, Its still difficult for a young age to be separated from one parent for months….Please continue writing and Thanks for posting.

    3. Now that Tina is no longer living with rockhead, it is high time the two of them talked and stop hiding their feelings for each other. They don’t have to do that anymore.

    4. Hello Bonaire Gal, Great to have you back and posting a wonderful, interesting new adventure. I love the gentle and timid manner Bette and Tina are treating each other. There is so much love and hurt between them. I do believe there is a way back to their loving days. This holiday is the first step and opening up truthfully about their current situations is the second. These gals belong toghether so now need to trust them emotions and see where they take them. I cna’t wait to read more so please make it soon. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    5. Love the story and the way you are developing their relationship. It’s nice to see the bond between Bette and Sam and how the four of them make such a sweet family. Look forward to the rest of their holiday and hope Tina and Bette continue to open up to each other.

    6. Very very emotional. Poor Sam, may be it is for the best (Henry out of his life. Bette and Tina would have to face teir situation, be honest with their feelings for each other and give stability to the children. Looking forward to the holiday and the reconnection between Bette and Tina and also the children. Great story. PPVS
