There seemed to be nothing to say, so she didn’t try to make conversation. She simple followed Bette’s lead. Intensely aware of the grace of her movements. Bette’s breath caressed her temple. And Tina moved in closer.

"I’ve tried to stay away from you." Bette whispered in her ear.

"You’ve succeeded."

"I haven’t succeeded at all." Bette said flat, pulling Tina even closer. she whispered in her ear. "I want to make love to you. my center is wet and my clit is throbbing. you are responsible for that."

Right away Tina should have pulled out of Bette’s arm and go in search of Helena, ____her date for Gods sake. What must she be thinking. But as quickly as the thought entered her head it disappeared. She blocked everyone else out. Everyone was blurred,she danced with Bette in an isolated glow. She closed her eyes at the thrill that electrified her from head to toe.

Bette swore under her breath. "you look as if i’m making love to you right now. You’re driving me out of my mind Tee."

Bette was making love to her with her words , with every brush of her body against her as she moved to the music. If Bette was tortured, so was she.Ever since Bette no one had ever made her feel this way; no one. Bette had set the bar high and Tina felt like no one could compete.

"Jody came with me, so I’ll take her home," Bette said as she placed her lips against Tina’s ear . "But we’re going to have to talk. Will you be at home tomorrow afternoon?."

Dazedly Tina tried to recall if she had made any plans; she couldn’t recall. It didn’t matter , even if she had, she would cancel them. "Yes I’ll be home." Her voice sounded odd, she noted, as if she hadn’t any strength.

Tina was grateful and disappointed at the same time when the song ended. "I’ll see you tomorrow" Bette said, as she led Tina back to the group."Thanks for letting me borrow your date Helena, she looked so beautiful I couldn’t resist asking her for a dance."

Helena’s eyes shot daggers at her, but only Tina and Alice saw, because Bette had turned away.

"Are you ready to leave?" Helena walked away, not looking to see if Tina was following. "I swear to God Tina!" Helena said as Tina caught up to her. "I don’t know what you ever saw in that woman." Helena was spoiling for a fight, so Tina refused to comment. Instead she uttered under her breath. "It’s funny Bette, said the same about you."

　

"Why do you provoke that woman?" Shane said, when Helena and Tina were out of ear shot. "Not that I feel sorry for her; I swear." Shane said smiling.

"Me neither" Alice piped in. "I feel sorry for Tina.And by the way I saw her looking at you tonight, I don’t think she’s sorry either. That woman is a vampire and a dragon, she’ll eat Tina alive".

"From your mouth to God’s ear, Al" Shane joked.

"So, Bette!" Alice elbowed her in the side. " What are you going to do about it?"

"Do about what?"

"Don’t play innocent with me, I saw the way Tina was looking at you, the way you two danced_____I’d say she’s warming up to you."

　

"None of our business, Al!" Shane cleared her throat, trying to get Alice’s attention.

"Yea Al, none of your business." Bette was trying to signal to Alice with her eyes.

"No, Bette"_______Alice continued.. "It is our business,You and Tina have have done this avoidance dance long enough. Now what are you going to do, to get her back?"

"Not the right time Alice!."

"No, actually it is the right time…."

Alive stiffened when she realized that Jody was behind her. Shane covered her mouth and mumbled. "FUCK" and Bette just stared at Alice as if she could kill her.

"It is the right time" Jody continued. "Please answer the question, I’d like to hear the answer."
