    Author Notes:

    It’s the morning hours on the day before New Year’s Eve in LA. Alice and Dana awake to find Lara already gone; Lara makes a quick stop at Carmen’s before going to work; Bette and Tina talk; Winnie and Leigh meet briefly, before things get down to business between Winnie, Helena and Peggy; Jenny and Shane rest.

    Lara: Carmen…

    Lara takes Carmen’s hands as they look into each other’s eyes.  Lara takes a deep breath and exhales.

    Lara: I need to ask you something…and please be honest.

    Carmen: Sure, Lara.

    Lara: …How….how do you feel…

    Lara stumbles through her words and before she can utter the word, "about," Carmen’s eyes narrow.

    Carmen: How do I feel…?

    Lara: …Ab-

    Carmen: You leave me here crying…you leave me in a puddle of my own tears so you can go off and have a couple of girls simul-fuck you!!!  A couple of girls who don’t even need you!!!!  A couple of girls who think you’re okay with this shit!!!  And you go off with them and you have the FUCKING nerve to barge in here and ask me how I Goddamned FEEL???

    Lara: Carmen…

    Carmen stands, forcing Lara to do the same.  Carmen relinquishes Lara’s hold.

    Carmen: I’ll tell you how I feel!  Get the fuck out, Lara!

    Lara is at a loss for words as her eyes widen with moisture.  Angry, Carmen shoves Lara out of the room as Lara reels back a few steps before finding herself in the hallway.

    Carmen: Get out!!!  Fucking go!!!

    For Lara it’s as if it’s happening all over again.  It’s all too real and all too familiar for her.  Carmen slams the door shut as Lara only looks on, wiping a tear from her eye.

    Lara: Carmen, I really need to talk-

    Carmen: You need to leave!  I am NOT gonna play this game with you!!!

    She needs to just scream it out before it’s too late.  Lara’s mind is a whirlwind.  Before she can say anything further however, she senses a presence behind her.  Lara turns around and sees the lady that had been resting now standing just inches from her.  They face each other as the tensity level increases with every breath.

    Uta: She said leave.

    Lara’s lips almost curl up into a sneer.  From behind the door, they hear her voice once more.

    Carmen: Lara…please leave…

    Lara turns away from Uta and towards the bedroom door once again.  Lara and Uta can both feel the anguish in Carmen’s voice.

    Carmen: …please.

    Lara looks down and slowly begins to turn towards the door that will be her exit.  Uta looks on with her arms crossed.  Lara walks past her and towards the door with Uta following her.

    Lara: Get away from me…

    Lara opens the door and hears Uta’s voice.

    Uta: Her heart is broken.

    Tears in her eyes, Lara forces a smile, understanding her reality now and what she has settled for.

    Lara: …What a coincidence.

    Lara closes the door behind her, leaving.  The day is just starting.

    2. Wait…Do you mean eveyone is moving into Helena’s home? so Why the hell does she have to move out of her own room? I luv Peggy, but come on. With Carmens temper, Lara should’ve come better prepared for a discussion. She had an opening & blew it. Glad you’re feeling better Kace. Hope the writers block is over, have to see where you take these people. Great update.

    3. Kace! This is bullsh*t…they can’t give up like that…and they HAVE enough friends…You can get them back together. I was looking to see why you gave me a sad face…I should be giving you a sad face…you’re trying to break B&T up…don’t do it Kace…and PLEASE don’t follow the way of the Belenas…Make it your challenge to get them back together. Let them have a period of them being friends…GOOD FRIENDS…then let them see they belong together. They aren’t going to be able to live in the same house and date other people that will drive them insane…AND PLEASE NO HELENA. Hello Kace? Can you hear me? Is this thing on?
