    Don’t you hate answering machines?

    "Are you sure about this Bette?"

     

    "I checked with Kit already T. Your nephew is waiting to meet you."

     

    They walked in the room and found Kit, Angus, and baby Porter all settled on the bed. Tina with Bette’s guidance, approached the beaming family.

     

    "Oh Kit. He’s beautiful. Absolutely beautiful."

     

     

    "Thanks Tina. We think so too. Here, do you want to hold your nephew?"

     

    Tina looked at Kit with appreciation and thanks. "I would love to. Oh Bette, look at him." she whispered. "This could have been what our son looked like."

     

    Tina was lost in the memories of their loss. She didn’t realize that Bette had taken the baby and given him back to his mother. She didn’t realize she was being held in Bette’s strong arms as she sobbed for their lost son. She didn’t realize that Bette cried with her in her sadness.

     

    After a few minutes Tina felt Bette gently rubbing her back to soothe her. She heard her whispering caring, loving, words to help calm her.

     

    "I’m sorry Bette. I’m sorry I couldn’t hold onto him."

     

    "Tina, (Bette softly whispered into her ear) it’s not your fault. It just wasn’t meant to be right then. It’s okay. It will all be okay."

     

    Tina apologized to Kit and Angus. She told them how happy she was for them, and then made her way toward the door.

     

    "Thank you. All of you for including me. It means more to me than I can tell you. Um, Bette? Would you mind taking Angelica with you tonight? I, uh, have a lot to do, and I know she would love to be with her Mama."

     

    Bette crossed the room to Tina.

    "Are you okay T?"

     

    "Uh huh. I’m fine. So can you take her?"

     

    "Yes of course. Hey why don’t I just come with you? I’ll take care of Boo, and you can get your stuff done. I promise to stay out of the way."

     

    Um, it’s okay Bette. I have to go into the office to do some stuff. But I’ll call you later okay? Stay and enjoy your nephew and everyone okay? Thanks. Bye Kit, Bye Angus. And congratulations again. He is beautiful."

    2. Sometomes it is best to let it all out. That is what Tina is doing and now Bette is too. There is still that connection between them. Maybe now they can move forward and have their own little Porter son.

    7. Damn. But, you know Tina needs to let it out, and so does Bette. I have faith in them that together they can get through anything. You know its never too late, they could still have they’re son.

    8. Welcome back! I agree with azmama, so very sad but so very well told. Poor Tina but glad Bette realized where she needed to be and was there for T. Please post sooner rather than later!! LOL

    10. *trying to hold back the tears*CDN, u did it again, your posts are so touching, I’m speechless.. Poor Bette and Tina, surely, baby Porter brought all the pain from losing the first baby back, but at least this time they’re grieving together… I think this chapter makes up for the time in between posts…;) but PLEASE post soon!!
