    I Wish CH 23

With that Tina left. She quickly said goodbye to Shane and Alice and gave Angelica a quick kiss. She rushed down the hallway and out of the hospital to her car. There she sat for twenty minutes sobbing until she was sure she could safely drive home.

After the 5th unanswered phone call, Bette started to get really worried. She knew that holding little Porter was hard for Tina. And she also knew that it was an excuse she made about having stuff to do. Bette packed up Angelica and headed over to Tina’s. She needed to see if Tina was okay.

After seeing Tina’s car in the driveway, she knew her suspicions were correct. She took Angelica over to Shane’s and explained what she thought was going on. Shane slipped Bette a key.

"Um, I forgot to give it back before you moved."

    "Thanks Shane. For everything."

Bette went around through the back yard to see if Tina was outside. She noticed that all of the shades were down in the house. She gently rapped on the back door. When no answer came, she used the key Shane had given her. Letting herself in, she gently called out to Tina. She didn’t receive a reply.

Bette made her way through the kitchen and living room that she had been in only hours earlier. Tina was no where in sight. She heard some sound coming from the back of the house. As she moved toward the noise, it became clear to her that Tina was in despair and sobbing uncontrollably. She eased the door to the spare bedroom open expecting to find her there, and was surprised when the room didn’t have Tina in it.

She moved over to the door to the master bedroom. Turning the handle slowly she inched the door open.

In a room devoid of any furnishings, and harboring only a few discarded boxes, Bette found Tina on the floor in the spot their bed used to reside. In almost the exact spot she had found her in that awful day a few years back, the day their lives splintered and took them away from each other. The day their dreams and their son died.

Tina, curled into a fetal position, sobbed excruciatingly. Silently Bette curled around Tina in the floor, encasing her in her arms, and held her as their tears fell. They fell for the loss of their son, their dreams, their hopes, and the life they used to share.

    1. Sometomes it is best to let it all out. That is what Tina is doing and now Bette is too. There is still that connection between them. Maybe now they can move forward and have their own little Porter son.

    2. Damn. But, you know Tina needs to let it out, and so does Bette. I have faith in them that together they can get through anything. You know its never too late, they could still have they’re son.

    3. Welcome back! I agree with azmama, so very sad but so very well told. Poor Tina but glad Bette realized where she needed to be and was there for T. Please post sooner rather than later!! LOL
