“I can’t believe how much our daughter has managed to accumulate given she has no income.” Tina said as she placed the final two members of Angie’s soft toy menagerie into a large packing box before folding the lid closed.
“She doesn’t need an income when she has those big brown eyes.” Bette replied from where she stood in the doorway to Tina’s room.
“That you can’t say no to.” Tina smirked.
“You’re not exactly immune yourself.” Bette responded with a pointed look.
“Well I’m going to start thinking twice until Angie is big enough to pack her own boxes to move.” Came Tina’s distracted response as she busied herself shuffling the full box out of her way and replacing it with an empty one. Having successfully switched out the cartons, Tina paused to stand up straight and stretch out her aching lower back.
“Come here.” Bette said as she took a couple of steps into the room and held out her hand which Tina duly took in her own. After guiding her tired ex to sit on the edge of the queen size bed, Bette sat behind and went to work on the knots in Tina’s back. “There’s an easy solution for that you know.”
“And what would that be?” Tina asked as she winced slightly when Bette massaged a particularly tender spot.
“Don’t go.” Bette replied, it was more than a simple statement and barely less than a plea. Her hands stopped moving and her heart thudded loudly as she waited for Tina’s response.
“We already discussed this.” Tina dismissed the idea and Bette felt her ex-wife tense under her touch.
“It wasn’t so much a discussion as I issued a directive and you agreed.” Bette clarified with an accuracy that caused Tina to blanch.
“You said it was what you needed and I want to support that.” Tina stood and stepped out of reach as she resumed the task at hand.
“Maybe it’s not what I need at all, maybe it’s not what we need.” Bette argued as she watched Tina pack with a renewed focus.
“Bette” Tina responded in a hesitant tone, hoping that her girlfriend would drop the topic.

well, tina had changed and even though i’d love for her to stay, i think it’s better for them to start from the scratch…hopefully they both can trust each other that they won’t see anybody else

I can understand both Bette and Tina’s thinking. Bette for wanting to keep Tina there and for Tina wanting to give Bette all the space she needs to make the right decision for her.

I am sad for Bette that Tina and Angelica are moving out, but I am sure that going slow is better than rushing in blind. It is time that Bette and Tina really worked through things and took their time to rebuild. Fantastic chapter!
i finally caught up…and now i want more…lol. i want them to live together too…i want…i want…i want

What is Bette thinking? I feel like she only wants Tina because she is the default choice after Abby dumped her. Would she be screwing someone else while seeing Tina if she hadn’t been dumped? I guess that is what bothers me just because no matter when mistakes Tina made in the past that is just totally disrespectful and awful. I feel like she is just trying to force Tina’s hand because she is the only one still there. Hope more is explained next time.

Good for Tina in calling Bette on her crap that it was Abby who dumped her and how is it that Tina can be considered her girlfriend at this stage, she was just with Abby as her girlfriend and Tina as the ex-wife.
