If You Never Say Anything to Me ch. 26
“Of course you can talk to me.” I felt instantaneously better. Almost like the answers to the questions that I would have would now be answered. With that, I poured out the whole story. I started the day my Lieutenant told me I had to see a therapist and didn’t stop until I had told him about the weekend spent with Tina.
“Wow. Bette, I can honestly say, I’ve never heard you like this before. She sounds pretty incredible. I thought you’ve always said that you wouldn’t be the first for someone though. Too much drama involved or something like that.” He was right. That had always been my creed. It didn’t hold true when out of town. I was totally fine with being the first for someone when I never had to see them again but not within my own hometown. I had played that game before and then acquired a stalker as a result. She just didn’t understand it had only been about sex.
“Tina’s different. I see beyond just taking her to bed. I have never wanted to spend time with someone like I have wanted to with her. I’ve never cared about their interests or likes and dislikes. It was never something that I saw lasting longer than I wanted it to last. Bob, I want the day to be longer so I can spend more time with her. I hate that we get too tired to talk because there is so much more to talk about. You know the craziest thing about it all?”
“I can’t imagine it gets crazier but what?”
“It hasn’t been about getting her to sleep with me. I mean, you know you’ve lectured me enough about how casual I take sex and it’s true. I’ve never thought of sex as something that meant more than just roll in the hay. If she asked me to have sex tonight, I would say no because I don’t think she’s ready and I wouldn’t want to do anything that she wasn’t ready for.” There was silence as he absorbed my purging.
“Damn. You’ve got it bad. Does she feel the same way as you?”
“I think so. I hope so.” I really hoped she did. I prayed it wasn’t just her wanting to satisfy her curiosity of being with a woman and I found myself being hurt in the process.

In-love Bette is just… cute is maybe the wrong word to use, but it’s the only one I can think of right now. The chats with Bob and Kit, and the flowers and card… She’s adorable. I hope Tina’s also ready to share the “L” word with Bette. Thanks for the post, NAG. Cheers!
i think the picnic on the beach will do them both good… talking about their feelings… will get them going! :)PPS
Bette is so open and loving. What a wonderful way to be.PPS.
Great Chapter!!! I love how Bette talked to Bob and Kit about Tina. Now bring on the picnic. Thanks Nag PPS

Oh, the story just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for another wonderful chapter. Can’t wait for the talk on the beach…maybe more will follow once Bette shares her true feelings.
Bette is lucky to have people that will listen to her and help her through the difficult decisions. Bob and Kit are a huge benefit to Bette in almost all aspects of her life.
newagegirl i can’t believe you never finished this wonderful story. you are such a fantastic writer its sad to see this brilliant story left hanging. i hope you come back and finish it some day. i loved window of opportunity and thought it couldn’t be topped, but this was just as good or even better. i have come late to reading fanfic or like the others before me i would have bombarded you to continue after each post. heres hoping that you will come back and finish this lovely story some day. i’m off to read the letter now.
Wow! What a charming update you had here for us. Thanks! It is so beautiful to hear Bette’s realization of falling for Tina and how scared she can be of telling her. The flowers and the basket were very thoughtful. We are eager to learn about their talk on such a romantic setting at the beach. Hmmm *smiling wide* PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties.)
