New York, 3 weeks before wedding, 1 week after invites were sent out.
“Casey, I’m going out for lunch, a long one if you know what I mean. Don’t expect me back too early.” Bette told her assistant.
“You’re going to see Ms Lerner?” her assistant replied with a twinkle in her eye.
Bette simply gave a smile and left the building, wanting to go over with takeout to surprise her fiancée over at the warehouse where she worked and sometimes conducted workshops.
The door swung open, Jodie stepped into their house, well more like Jodie’s house really, given that the majority of Bette’s things were still in LA.
“Hey baby, I’m home.”
I, I, just died in your eyes, eyes.
Just died in your eyes, eyes.
“Hey, you had a good day today?”
“Yeah, had a nice lunch.”
Just died in your eyes.
Bette’s heart sank further; she knew exactly how nice a lunch Jodie had been having.
There’s a silence in the air tonight.
“So… What’s for dinner?” Jodie tried to break the ice that had somehow formed over the awkward greeting.
“Oh what, lunch wasn’t enough for you?” Bette snapped.
“Wait, whoa whoa!! What the heck are you talking about? What’s wrong baby?” Jodie was shocked at the viciousness of the statement and tried to figure out where Bette was coming from.
There’s a secret we can’t hide behind, no more.
There’s a distance we don’t dare to go,
“What’s wrong? You dare to ask me what’s wrong? I, your fiancée was going over to your warehouse during lunch to eat with you and guess what I saw you eating instead. Oh yeah, you had a nice lunch alright.” Bette said, eyes flashing with anger.
“Fuck, Bette…” Jodie’s face had turned pale “I…I…”
“Save it Jodie, alright? Was she the only one you fucked? Or were there more before her?”
And a million things that I don’t wanna know.
Bette put up a hand to stop Jodie from replying “Oh wait, I shouldn’t have to hear this. It doesn’t matter whether it was just her or 20 others, the fact remains that you cheated on me. After you proposed to me less than a month ago.”

Thanks Tigger. Bette has done the right thing, it just should have been earlier. jodi is such a pig, I most sincerely hope this is the last we hear of her. Now Bette’s work really begins, to try and get Tina back. Here’s hoping!! Thanks for posting. I am a mother too Tigger, been there, done that. If your mother knows how to check the computer to see if you’ve been on it, you are in deep doggie do. Please don’t learn to lie to your mother, you just might live to regret it.
