Bette leaves Kit’s office with a teary smile, and goes up to Tina and gives her a hug.  Tina is very proud of Bette and told her so.  Tina is holding the goody basket for the police station.  Tina reminds Bette that they should pick up the Saab before they deliver the basket.  The tow garage is only open until 12:00PM on Sundays.   They have twenty-five minutes to get there.  Bette’s bill at the garage for towing and keeping the car overnight is $125.00.  The garage added another $25.00 to the bill because she was picking up the car on Sunday.  Bette said she has learned an expensive one-day lesson.

Tina follows Bette in her car to the Police Station.  Tina goes in with Bette but waits for her in the reception area.  Bette asks for Sergeant Decker.  A few minutes later the Sergeant greets Bette.  Bette starts to apologize.  “Sergeant I would like to apologize for my actions last night.  I want to thank you for not putting me in jail, and sparing my sister any more embarrassment because of me. I’ve learned my lesson.  It will never happen again.  I’m sorry.  Please accept this basket of goodies from Kit and me.  It’s the least I can do.”  Sergeant Decker speaks. “Bette we brought you here last night because we didn’t want you to get into any more trouble.  We were worried about you.  Thank you for coming down here and apologizing.  I really appreciate it.”  The Sergeant gives Bette a big hug and tells her to be good.

Tina is proud of Bette.  It’s going to be a beautiful rest of the afternoon!

***CHAPTER TEN***

PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY

As they’re driving along the Pacific Coast Highway towards Malibu and the beach house hideaway, Tina points out her favorite shops and points of interest.   A few minutes down the road Tina points out a favorite eatery she likes to go to for breakfast.  It’s called the Beach Cove Café.  It’s right on the beach, and it has Bird of Paradise plants at the entrance, and a never-ending view of the ocean and coastline from every booth.

Tina notices Bette is not listening to her. Bette has other things on her mind and asks sexily, “Tee where are you taking me?”  Tina waits a moment then says,  “To our love nest.  Just be patient Baby! ”  Bette responds.  “Babe you’re making me hot just thinking about where you’re taking us and what you’re going to do to me.  F*ck can you drive faster?”  Tina smiles and thinks to herself,  “We are both soooo ready for tonight!”
