“Dave while you’re on your DATE!!!  I’m going to speak to Franklin Phillips, over at the C.A.C.  Maybe he can help us find out who has it in for Bette or the C.A.C. or both.  Also I’m going to talk to Tina’s mom.  She’s on the Board of Director’s of the Grand Rapids Museum of Modern Art in Michigan.  Maybe she can give me a little insight into the goings on at a museum, and what I should be looking for?” 

Mel continues,  “If you have to speak to Bette later on, do it without Tina in the room.  I’ve noticed that Bette clams up when Tina is around.  Bette is not proud of her past, and she’s trying to keep it from Tina as much as possible.  This is just an FYI.  I’m also going to snoop around the hospital and see if I can find the Mole.”

Mel sighs and rubs the back of his neck and says, “Well Dave that’s all I have for now.  Lets meet tomorrow at 3:00PM.  That will give you at least a two hour lunch with Kit!”  (Dave rolls his eyes.  Mel is going to be relentless about Kit!)

***CELBRITY WING***

Tina is listening to Kelly as they walk down the hallway.  “Tina you haven’t slept in days.  You look exhausted.  Now you have a choice, you can take a nap on the sofa in the Nurses Lounge, or you can go back to room  #210 in the Celebrity Wing and sleep on the sofa there?  Tina you need to get some rest and you know you don’t have to worry about Bette.  I won’t take ‘No’ for an answer.”  Tina thinks for a moment, “I guess I’ll go back to room #210 seeing we’re be charged for it, and at least I’ll have some privacy there.”  Kelly smiles, “Good answer.  You know I’ll call you if anything changes.  Come on I’ll walk you over, and I’ll let Nurse Diane know you’re in the room.”

Tina thanks Kelly for walking her over.  Tina opens the door and sees the bed still messy.  She grabs the pillow that Bette slept on and the blanket, and tosses them on the sofa.  Tina is going to sleep in her jeans and t-shirt; she forgot and left her suitcase with her PJ’s in it, and she also forgot her purse in ICU.  Tina goes in the bathroom and splashes her face with water.  Bette’s toothpaste is still sitting on the counter.  Tina squirts some on her finger and brushes her teeth.

Tina gets comfortable on the sofa.  She smells Bette’s shampoo on the pillow as she lays down her weary head.  Smelling the shampoo is comforting her.

Tina can’t sleep.  She’s thinking about the person in the hospital that is working with Terri.  Tina is going to take matters into her own hands. “ The hospital and the Police can’t protect Bette, so it’s up to me.” Tina says out loud. 

Tina continues talking.  “The person that put that plastic thing on the bed must have been an Orderly, no one would suspect him, and he would have access to the room.  I’m assuming it’s a guy.  He makes crappy money so he is easy to bribe.” (Tina takes the pad of paper and pen off the nightstand and starts making notes for herself.)  “I’ll need to use a phony name.  I need a reason for being in this wing.  How do I know the woman (Bette) that was in this room?    Terri knows Bette’s Gay and she’s seen me from a distance at ‘Milk.’   I’ll wear my Dodger’s baseball cap (it’s in the car) to hide my hair.  Also I need a boyfriend so whoever the person is, they won’t suspect me as an intimate girlfriend of Bette’s, and I already know how to play straight!”  (Tina chuckles.)  “ When the security guys get here, I’ll use one of them as my boyfriend.”  Tina takes her notes and puts them in her pocket, and then she turns the lamp off on the nightstand.  She takes her tennis shoes off and snuggles up to Bette’s pillow and falls asleep within minutes.
