    “What?”

     

    “Mission accomplished! I think we’ve grown smarter and more culturally refined already.” Sam smirked a little sarcastically, directing her bestfriend’s eyes towards Shane and Alice. The two were bent over – head between their legs – trying to see a distorted metal sculpture in a different perspective. Bette frowned at the display. It was either of two things – one, they were being their wacky selves and were messing with her; or two, they were actually enjoying themselves and were really trying to understand the art. She was leaning towards the former, but quickly settled for the latter when she heard them speak up.

     

    “It’s an elephant!” Alice declared a second later, all proud of herself.

     

    “No, its a rhino!” Shane countered, straightening up.

     

    “But it has a trunk, see?”

     

    “Nah, that’s a horn!”

     

    “Elephant!”

     

    “Rhino!”

     

    If they read the title of the work, they would have known that it was actually a man in his birthday suit. Groaning, Bette rolled her eyes and walked away. “You guys are fucking hopeless..”

    That evening..

    F4 Lounge, New Haven.

     

    “To Tina and her stint at Focus Features!”

     

    Jenny started the first round of cheering as she, Tina and Dana clinked their cocktail glasses together at the VIP area of the club. Amidst the sound of laughter and loud slurping, Tina leaned back on her chair and studied the faces of her two bestfriends with a wistful smile plastered on her face. She was glad that they could make it here tonight on such short notice. Despite having a busy week in Brown and NYU respectively, Dana and Jenny still managed to squeeze her in to their hectic schedules. Tina didn’t know if it was just because of friendship – or if her girlfriend’s menacing phone call was the one responsible for getting their asses here, but either way, she was thankful. Helena had called her up too, all the way from Prague to offer her congratulations.

     

    “So where the heck are your girlfriends?” Jenny asked her two friends. She had expected them to be here when she arrived an hour ago, but curiously enough, F4 was missing in action.

And then at the end of the chappy we have Bette who is facing temptation now. Man will they won’t they??!! It would be fun to see the drama if they both did. PPS

    15. Your dialogue and style of writing is such a treat to read! So damn funny, as well as sexy and tender. The banter in the art gallery had me in tears and the giggles continues from there. I did feel bad for Kate though… especially with the guitar smashing. But how can anyone not love your Bette?? You seem to be brewing quite a bit of drama though… Kate…Jill…the nightmares… Can’t wait for your next post and here’s hoping for the 40+ pages!

Anyway, about the chapter I laughed a lot with “…” and the conversation between F4. For another chapter you rivet our attention and thank you for that. You are incredible.
