    “Trust is something you have to earn and so far I’m not impressed. I have to be really careful what information I reveal and who’s listening. Just recently I was visited by the men in black and for now they are just asking questions but I’m afraid it’s only the beginning. I think they are

    “Trust is something you have to earn and so far I’m not impressed. I have to be really careful what information I reveal and who’s listening. Just recently I was visited by the men in black and for now they are just asking questions but I’m afraid it’s only the beginning. I think they are spying on me.” The professor shook his head and continued, “Questions for now but soon they will want to take all my research and equipment related to the time portal. Maybe I should just blast the area so nothing could point out to the location and then destroy my research. I won’t let the government to ruin my life’s work.”

    “Noooooo…” Alice yelled but quickly recovered, “I mean, no way, it will be such a loss for the science.”

    “But why would our government spy on you? You are just an experimental physicist,” Tina intervened in the conversation.

    “Because someone…” the professor looked pointedly at Alice as if accusing her, “leaked to the government the focus of my recent research and my lab and facility were swarmed with G-men of unknown origin.”

    Alice looked back at him with indignation, “Professor, I would never reveal a secret, especially of that magnitude. I’m not some blabbermouth…”

    Tina snickered and Alice quickly turned around, “Tina…I thought you were on my side.”

    “I am, Alice. It’s just…never mind. Professor, Alice might give the wrong impression sometimes but she is very loyal and, though it might be hard to believe, she does know how to keep a secret.”

    “Thank you, Tina,” Alice smiled, mollified by her friend’s words. “I didn’t tell anyone, I swear, but I did do something.”

    “What did you do?”

    “Well…I sort of…” Alice looked at Tina who nodded unperceptively and Alice said really fast, jamming words together, “Ifoundthetimeportalandwenttothefutureandcameback.”

    “You…what?” Professor looked at her with confusion.

    Alice took a deep breath and said slower, “I found the time portal and went to the future and came back.”

    “You whaaaat?” Professor gasped and grabbed his chest, slowly sliding down on the chair. “Oh my God, it’s inconceivable. I need my nitroglycerine.”

    He searched his jacket pockets for the pills until he found the small vial. He took a few, pain distorting his face and Alice whispered guiltily, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it. And it was accidental, I swear.”

    3. Omg everyone’s coming back to write again I see. I have you on my list of authors to read I haven’t been able to read all your chapters yet but man I so wished I read them already as I am dying to reading this post it seems so intriguing. Yes you`re back iv missed this story so much please don’t leave it to long for the next chapter loved it and so pleased Katie came through the birth it so simple those times if only they new to wash you hands and sterilise the medical tools just how many mothers and babies could have been saved pps.

    7. When I saw this post I went back to Chapter 1 and have now read the whole story to date. I have thoroughly enjoyed such a different concept written with familiar characters with humour and drama.
