“What?”
“Yes, she did. Too many Mexicans. I was like, do you know where you are?” He said with an accent that would do a Chicano proud, “California. Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Pasadena, where the hell do you think those names came from?’ I think I really insulted her when I told her she needed to pick up a high school American History book and take a look at who was living here first.”
“You didn’t?”
“I did. I was in a mood already. I didn’t need to hear her bitching about the place.” Mo shook his head and opened a container of walnuts that were on the counter. He poured a few into his hand. “I knew that I should never have asked her to go to Disneyland last year. After that, she thought we were a lot more serious in this relationship. She was ready to get married. Christmas, Easter, her birthday, all of June, she was pissed each time an occasion passed and she didn’t get a ring.”
“What are you waiting for?”
“I don’t wanna get married. Not to her.”
“Then you need to stop wastin’ her time. If you know she wants it, let her go find it somewhere else.”
“I’ve hinted around. I mean…” Mo grabbed a handful of raw almonds that were in a jar on the counter and popped a couple in his mouth. He chewed, then said, “Shouldn’t she be able to figure it out? I don’t want her.”
“Are you gettin’ busy with her?”
Mo rolled his eyes and looked away.
“Luisa’s a woman over fifty. She’s not all about just gettin’ down with you. Either you move it to the next step or cut her loose.”
“She should get the message.”
“Mo, you bein’ a dog.”
“I am not.”
“Then stop fuckin’ with her.”
“I’ll tell her after we get back home. I’ll just tell her that we want different things and that we should call it quits. I don’t wanna ruin Thanksgiving with a bunch of drama.”
Luisa was standing at the door. “I’ll save you the drama, Clayton.”
Mo’s head whipped around. “Luisa.”
“Could I have the keycard to the hotel room? I’ll be gone before you get back.” She held out her hand.

My favourite couple have obviously been dana and alice, and you’ve written them and their story just perfectly, how it should have been, for me anyway. Portia, thank you so much for this epic love story. I’m happy that all of the characters are happy and content. The loop holes that the show had created, you have thoroughly patched. That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………
